Al Qaeda didn't invent terrorism. These people are so stupid, it should be outlawed.

more appeasement idiocy:

On the future of Hizbollah: "Everybody would want a solution here which takes away the recruiting power of Hizbollah in the broader Arab world."

"That is one which addresses the territorial issue of the Sheba farms, which in a broader way addresses Lebanon’s sovereignty and integrity in a way that allows Hizbollah a political as against a militia future inside an independent Lebanon."

"If those issues can be addressed, then the support for a militarised Hizbollah falls away. But the idea that there is a peace which either Hizbollah would respect, or which would draw the wind out of Hizbollah’s sails which doesn’t address those political things is I think far-fetched."

"Over time there’s got to be a similar future as there have been for other terrorist fighters; a settlement which addresses the political issues of their cause as well as the military ones. Which secures disarmament and reintegration into a non violent political process."

"Hizbollah now is the principle voice of Shia Muslims in Lebanon – something like 40 per cent of the population – that gives them immense power as a political party if they were to forsake the military route."

"not helpful" to label Hezbollah terrorists"

Huhhh????

Amazing! That means, I take it, that Hezbollah has a flag and a country and are not disaffected, stateless murderers? They're 'regulars' of some conventionally structured fighting force under a military chain of command following a policy made by 'duly' elected leaders of a properly established national entity????? I don't understand what he's talking about!!! Do these clowns think that everyone in the US is a howling idiot?

past asshat comments by Brown:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1646073/posts

"Much of the public discourse that reaches the U.S. heartland has been largely abandoned to its loudest detractors such as Rush Limbaugh and Fox News,"

"the prevailing [US] practice of seeking to use the UN almost by stealth as a diplomatic tool while failing to stand up for it against its domestic critics is simply not sustainable. You will lose the UN one way or another."

Washington, he said, was too happy to tolerate "too much unchecked UN-bashing and stereotyping".

"You [the US] have to engage to help make this institution a better institution. And you need to engage, if I dare say so, with your own public opinion to explain better why the UN matters to American interests."

"The UN's role is in effect a secret in middle America even as it is highlighted in the Middle East and other parts of the world,"

to Malloch Brown

Hezbollah's spokesperson Hassan Ezzedin on Shebbaa farms: "If they go from Sheba'a, we will not stop fighting them. Our goal is to liberate the 1948 borders of Palestine...[Jews] can go back to Germany or wherever they came from.” New Yorker, (October 14, 2002).

Yeah, Israel should negotiate with that.

If you intentionally target innocent civilians with your rockets and bombs, you are a terrorist. If you wear civilian clothes, shoot at your enemy, and then hide behind mom and the kids at the dinner table, you are a terrorist. If you use ambulances to move your men and arms around town, you are a terrorist. If you shoot and try to draw return fire into civilian areas, you are a terrorist. It’s not all that difficult to understand.

Truth is usually unhelpful to the designs of filthy lice like the UN Deputy Secretary.
