Israel will release two Lebanese prisoners in return for the two soldiers abducted by Hezbollah, as part of a cease-fire agreement, government and defense officials said on Monday.

The sources added that the UN Security Council would call for a cease-fire in Lebanon on Friday, and it could take effect as early as Saturday.

Alternatively, the fighting might continue for a few more days.

But will Hezbollah honor their part of the deal?

It's a good start. Hezbollah must be out of rockets or launchers. Then later, send in some covert boys and dispatch Nasrallah.

I doubt very much what Haaretz is saying. I do not think Israel will stop now when they decided a major invasion to start within hours !

If this is true, Hezbollah will have the appearance in the Arab world as having won. And Israel will not have completed their publicly stated mission, which was to disarm Hezbollah.

They should have launched that offensive right at the beginning. They knew Bush wouldn't be able to hold off the UN forever. They were working against time from the start, and I don't know why they pissed around for so long.

Well, here we go again. We keep hearing these things and then they are denied. I will wait and see this time before making any comments on it. Wait until it is either a done deal or they once again deny it.

An even exchange of two muslims for two jews makes the muslims equal to the jews and, moreover hezbollah and the rest of the arab world will think they've won.

I think Israel should release all of them.

Hezbolluh is the founding fathers of the suicide bombers. Israel should strap them all with a suicide vest and drop them out of an airplane over Southern Lebanon.

I dunno, two's different from a thousand. I might take that.

I don't believe it. they are not going to do a prisoner swap. Unless Hezbollah is wiped out first.

That isn't what Nasrallah had in mind; the superloser was hoping to kidnap two or three Israelis and trade them for the three or four hundred hezbully baby killers, mother rapers, and father stabbers who are rotting in Israeli prisons. Israeli should adopt Jack Pershing's solution to disposing of those animals before anybody kidnaps anybody else for similar reasons.

Exactly. It simply does not make sense. Hizballah plan from the begining was to abduct the two soldiers for 2 or 3 terrorists swap in Israeli jails, I do not think that Israel is going to give them what they want after 21 days of war !!!

Israel will pay a huge price of blood in the future if they agree to this.
