Let us hope a large portion of voters feel the same way.

I'm in for the rally......not sure it's worth the trip for the announcement....

Depending on how far you're driving, it's probably not worth it for the announcement. Glad to hear you'll be there for the rally.

Would you like to be added to the Irey/Murtha ping list?

Johnstown is in the south / southwest central part of the state about 2 hours out of Pittsburgh right along the PA Turnpike.

Geez, didn't even realize it was so far from Pittsburgh. And I just drove to Pittsburgh a few months ago. D'oh! :-p

Mo1 saw the thread and posted a link on the PA page but it didn't stir any talk on the page, nor here for that matter

Thanks for trying, Mo.

If this is true, I am truly amazed. I can't believe that O'Neill would get involved in this campaign in a partisan manner. The SBVFT were truly a non-partisan group who would have gone after Kerry no matter what political party he belonged to. I will be really interested in O'Neill's rationale for participating.

This isn't a partisan issue either. It's about Murtha betraying our country and trashing our troops. It isn't a "Support Diana Irey" rally.

When you click on the boot murtha link, there is nothing in the announcement about O'Neill being there.

Did you add the part about O'Neill being a speaker at the rally? It doesn't appear on your link.

I can't find anything in the links confirming that O'Neill will speak there, just the header at the beginning of the thread that appears to be modified from the boot murtha site.

I see that. Glad you pinged IPW to ask her what's up. FYI, she's the webmaster at Boot Murtha, if you weren't aware.

But here's another article also tying the two groups together.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1675624/posts?page=3#3

Now, it could be two cases of reporters mixing up the two groups plus IPW mistakenly including John O'Neill. But that seems unlikely and I tend to think it's legit. We'll find out more details on Thursday.

If so, the teasers are working! ;-)

Thanks for the info, I wasn't aware that she was the webmaster at BootMurtha. I do know that the site does not contain the information about O'Neill.

The following statement from the other link is another mistatement IMO. I have contributed three times to SBVFT and once to the Carlton Sherwood defense fund. I just don't believe that the SBVFT is affiliated in any way with these other groups.

The group, Veterans for Truth, is reformed from the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth and will hold a rally in October to "Redeploy John Murtha From Congress," according to Mark Parker, state chairman.

You are right, we will find out on Thursday.

If Mark Parker was correctly quoted, then I think he'd likely know the history of the two groups.

I understand your confusion and concern, believe me! I guess I just trust that Larry Bailey and IPW wouldn't let their own site put out false info. As to reporters confusing the two groups, that's pretty understandable. Plus it plays right into their "Murtha is a victim of Swiftboating!" whines. :-)

It could just be an inartful use of words. Personally, I hope that there is no direct link to the SBVFT. The Dems have tried to portray the SBVFT as a creature of the Rep party and a purveyor of falsehoods. Kerry knows better, which is why he is still trying to discredit the organization. He in fact has said that he was not going to allow the swiftboating of Jack Murtha.

I view the SBVFT as an insurance policy against another Kerry run for the Presidency. I would rather they remain independent from other political contests.
