"I'm really appalled that (the Minuteman Project) would use 9/11 to publicize a plan (to secure U.S. borders) which is fundamentally so unconstitutional and un-American," he said. "We are all immigrants. Immigrant labor built America."
Another member of the American Left proves once again that liberals have no knowledge whatsoever of the US Constitution, US history, and what it means to be an American.

So it's racist to want to secure a nation's borders?
Funny I never saw the left calling the Soviet Unino racist all those years. But then, they were only persecuting Jews.

Immigration activists clashed at the site of the World Trade Center on Wednesday when an anti-illegal immigration group called for secure borders to avoid a repeat of the September 11 attacks and counterprotesters yelled "racists go home."
Did the activists yell back "we are home, this is our country."

It is a shame that this was held during a weekday. The other side can easily get off work. We don't have that luxury.

There they go with that stupid buzz word, "We are all immigrants". No we are not all immigrants, Americans stopped being immigrants by about the third generation from the American Revolution at least.
There is a people here, they are native Americans, they fought, bled, and died and built a nation that other's just can't seem to stay out while displaying nothing but contempt for the native American culture that is already here.
And worse yet, the government that is suppose to represent these native Americans will inconvenience, insult, and offend 250,000,000 native Americans so as not to offend one stranger, with no good intentions toward this nation, who claims his feelings have been hurt.

Nice hit piece. Check out the logical inconsistency between:
Members of the Minuteman Project, which patrols the U.S.-Mexican border for illegal immigrants, pushed and shoved members of an immigrant rights group that showed up at the event.
...and... Jim Gilchrist and Jerome Corsi, authors of "Minutemen: The Battle to Secure America's Borders," were whisked away when some immigrant rights supporters broke through a police barrier and scuffled with Minutemen supporters.
I hate the press.

Oh how I wish I had been there. The notice was too short for me, and too short to get anything together properly. Also the FR thread was removed by s o m e o n e . . .

"I'm really appalled that (the Minuteman Project) would use 9/11 to publicize a plan (to secure U.S. borders) which is fundamentally so unconstitutional and un-American," he said. "We are all immigrants. Immigrant labor built America."I notice Reuters is using the tired old MSM trick of using a quote to close the story with their own opinion. That is editorializing the news just as much as if they said it themselves--even moreso, because the unwary are roped in. A pox on them all.

I'd love to see better border control... but it seems kinda silly to use 9/11 as a backdrop for this. 9/11 didn't happen because of illegal immigration. All of the terrorists entered the U.S. legally.

the [Minutemen] . . . pushed and shoved members of an immigrant rights group . . . some immigrant rights supporters broke through a police barrier Dang, Must have pushed them pretty hard, right through the police line -- Then the Minutemen musta run around to the other side of the police line and "scuffled" with the immigrant rights folks.
Hey! That's what the Reuters' employee typed in.
Also, what have the 9/11 hijackers got to do with ILLEGAL immigration?
A big part of the ILLEGAL immigrant problem is document fraud. I did not search for facts vis-a-vis the 19 hijackers' method of entry but I do remember that among the 19 there were 63 driver licenses.
