One of the 15 out-of-state gun dealers snared in a city sting filed a $400 million lawsuit against Mayor Bloomberg yesterday, claiming Hizzoner didn't have the authority to send undercover agents to Georgia.

Ed Marger, a lawyer for Smyrna, Ga., gun dealer Adventure Outdoors, said he regretted not asking for even more from the billionaire mayor for the "clearly illegal" move that "damaged" his client.

Bloomberg pronounced himself "thrilled" to be named the target of the suit. "I'm just thrilled they mentioned my name. I hope they got the spelling right," the mayor said...........

Swell his ego more? Maybe a couple more lawsuits will do it----judging by his elated response to this suit.

I wish the story from the NY Post explained the circumstances a little more. I'm in Tennessee but we don't have the restrictions here for purchasing guns the way they have in New York. Gun dealers down here must follow procedures like background checks, etc. but regular people can buy and sell guns to each other without restrictions. We can buy them out of the newspaper, at yard sales, flea markets, etc. I can't see people buying guns in a licensed gun shop down South to take to New York to sell to criminals when they can legally buy them from individuals, no questions asked.

I hope he wins the lawsuit. I don't see how they could legally come to Georgia and do a sting like this.

It's said that Hizzoner's got his head stuck so far up his hornpipe that they had to cut a window in his navel.

I dont know what the sting is all about, but 400 milion might take the grin off the Mayor's face.

Hizzoner has presidential ambitions (gag)---so this foray down South was a way to gain him national notice, and to suckup to his liberal supporters.

Someone please tell me why New York would have authority to do undercover work in Georgia anyway. If they need to investigate, what is wrong with using the appropriate people like ATF or FBI?

It's a publicity stunt for the RINO's political ambitions----deluded NY politicans think they rule the world.

Rudy has it all---now he's a cover girl.

I'm wondering if the NY cops involved in this sting used false IDs to make their purchases. I would think that would be a federal offense for them to travel interstate to do that.
