Iran's Hezbollah set for 'WW3'

Tehran - Iran's Hebollah, which claims links to the Lebanese group of the same name, said on Tuesday it stood ready to attack Israeli and US interests worldwide.

"We have 2 000 volunteers who have registered since last year," said Iranian Hezbollah's spokesperson Mojtaba Bigdeli, speaking by telephone from the central seminary city of Qom.

"They have been trained and they can become fully armed.

"We are ready to dispatch them to every corner of the world to jeopardise Israel and America's interests.

"We are only waiting.

"If America wants to ignite World War Three ... we welcome it," he said.

Iranian religious organisations have made great public show of recruiting volunteers for "martyrdom-seeking operations" in recent years, usually threatening US interests in case of any attack against the Islamic Republic's nuclear programme.

But there is no record of an Iranian volunteer from these recruitment campaigns taking part in an attack.

Iran's Hezbollah (Party of God) says it is spiritually bound to Shi'ite Muslim fighters in Lebanon, but its command structure and funding are unclear.

Despite Iranian Hezbollah's insistence that it takes orders from Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, government ministries say Hizbollah does not implement official policy.

Iran's government has said it hopes for a diplomatic solution to the Israeli offensive in Lebanon.

While Iran did fund and support Lebanese Hezbollah during the 1980s, Tehran says it has not contributed troops or weapons in the latest violence.

Israel says Iranian armaments have been fired against it.

Iran, like all other Islamic troublemakers, is so damned belligerent.

If this continues there will only be one choice for the (still) free world---take out all military installations and don't wait for the Israelis to do it.

We know they are here in mosques across the country. I am amazed that we have not been hit since 9-11.

The ones to be worried about aren't in the mosques. They fear being ratted out in this country.

I wish we had such a resource, a paramilitary army of misfits and fanatics willing to terrorize our enemies, but an army that we can deny that we arm, fund, or control.

When will the media get it? Hezbollah is an arm of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard - it was CREATED by iran. The names are not coincidental. It's just like the 82nd airborne is a division of the US Army. Drives me nuts.

Hezbollah is starting this war at a severe disadvantage to themselves - they lack the logistics, the resources and the secure base from which to operate.

The world is going to see a LOT of this asymmetric warfare over the coming decades. The kill ratio will probably be in the range of about 25 guerrillas to each commando or special forces member facing them. Thus, even if ten jihadists spring up for every one killed, eventually the ratios start to work against them.

Warfare is a very expensive proposition, and more than one nation has been vanquished because it was driven into bankruptcy. Hezbollah is only a mercenary group, and without the support of a modestly wealthy nation (Iran) they would have folded up operations already.

"We have 2 000 volunteers who have registered since last year,"

Oh I see you want to compare numbers, OK try these on: The Ohio class submarine is equipped with the Trident strategic ballistic missile from Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space.

Trident II is capable of carrying up to twelve MIRVs (multiple independent re-entry vehicles), each with a yield of 100 kilotons, although the SALT treaty limits this number to eight per missile. The circle of equal probability (the radius of the circle within which half the strikes will impact) is less than 150m

Oh, BTW, the crew is comprised of volunteers too. A big hat tip to all my brothers and sisters in the silent service of the US NAVY.

Ah, but if the Israelis do it, then the US didn't "ignite WW3". ;)

I totally agree. This gives Iran and Syria plausible deniability. Plus it gives the libs as well as Russia and China a fig leaf to hide behind when as they advocate diplomacy with Iran and the like. At least North Korea doesn't have a proxy army......yet.

Uh, last I looked, Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas already ignited WWIII by starting this conflagration in the first place. Who crossed over into who's territory and kidnapped soldiers? And let's not forget the poor civilian they kidnapped and KILLED. He was just a BOY!

F&k 'em. They started it and they made a huge mistake. Now they are dead meat.

"If America wants to ignite World War Three ... we welcome it," he said.

I don't think they can quite swing anything of that magnitude..
But if they want to fight I'm good to go. They say "worldwide".. come get me.

They seem rather optimistic to me.

The crazy sonsuvbitches think "WAR" is the type war THEY practice ---- sneak or suicide attacks that may kill as many as hundreds or thousands..

WAR of the type we can flush into their Turd World toilet is of the nature where we come in ANNOUNCED to kill hundreds of thousands or millions in MINUTES......leaving their Turd World hovel uninhabitable for centuries...

If Syria, Iran or North Korea think they can hide and protect their Nations by acting through their Puppet Islamanazi terrorist organization -- they have a very rude and noisy awakening coming...

I won't miss them or mourn them at all....

I suspect you're underestimating the influence of islamic fervor over these brainwashed sand monkeys. While funding certainly enhances the sophistication and effectiveness of their operations, I doubt that the the lack thereof would in any significant way, degrade the motivation of their ranks as long as the imams continued to sit in their mosques and spout their propaganda.
