At 11 years old not only was I around "unsecured and loaded" firearms, I was charged with cleaning and checking to see they were ready to fire. My grandpa always kept loaded weapons in the home for emergencies. And so did my father.

I also knew how to shoot a weapon and where to aim to stop an intruder at that age.
