Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Wednesday that "the events this morning are not terror attacks but actions of a sovereign state that attacked Israel for no reason. The Lebanese government, of which Hizbullah is a member, is trying to destabilize regional stability. Lebanon is responsible and it will bear responsibility."
He added: "At this moment security forces are operating in Lebanese territory and this evening the government will meet to approve the continuation of the operation in Lebanon."
"These are difficult days for the State of Israel and its citizens. There are elements in the north and south that threaten our stability and challenge our stamina and determination," the PM sated. "They will fail and pay a dear price for their actions," he added.

Like Bugs Bunny says: this means war. Israel will conquer their sorry hind ends in less than a week.
I hope they are more thorough this time. Kick butt for a week---take it lying down for 3 decades! That's gotta hurt!!!
If Israel would start acting like a sovereign nation and defend itself when it is attacked, there might be less attacks. . .
In the past we have been holding them back, mistakenly IMO. They risk the kind of stalling that Bush ran into at the UN but I think Israel is past that stage.
I thought Olmert was a liberal but he sounds tougher than conservatives. Israel may yet change the situation in the ME by showing some courage and by taking action. That will solidify the situation for us all if they don't get talked out of it.
No more bombing empty buildings.
Don't bother taking names Israel, just kick their rear ends. If the lil' mooselimb idiots want war give war to them.
Looks like this is what is happening to PM Olmert, he realizes that you cannot negotiate with terrorists.
It's time to take off the gloves. That little monkey president of Iran is pulling the Hezbollah strings on this one with all his anti-Israeli rhetoric lately. I'd say he should be the first to get a visit from the IAF!
Previously, when the terror was done through shadow organizations with no real international standing, blame would always redound to the Israeli's for illegitimate use of force. Now, with terror actions coming from the territory of soveriegn states, they can be classified as "acts" of war" - reprisals can then be directed against the representatives of said government(s).
The Israelis must develop a creative strategy for defeating the Islamist terrorists once and for all in Gaza and in southern Lebanon. There is nothing Iran would like more than to see the 'Great Satan' in Iraq and the 'Little Satan' in Lebanon forever tied down in a tit-for-tat war of attrition.
Islamofacists are complicit with Liberal Media, Democrats, Socialists, and Communists around the world.
The propaganda drips from every newsrag, news program, TV drama, Hollywood production, school campus.
The Democrats would be routed for eternity if they didn't get support from the anti-American media.
Destroying Liberal Media is the head of the snake.
GET BUSY!
I agree and don't forget the majority of teachers in charge of our youth are filling their young skulls full of mush with global warming fears, environmental untruths and inappropriate sexual ideas while avoiding giving them a real education.
The socialists and communists have taken over the Democrat party, the majority of the media, universities and many schools. It's not too late, but we should have awakened and been more vocal a long time ago.
What happened to you, and; how old were you at the time?
If the PLANET would stop butting in when Israel tries to defend herself, there may be fewer attacks.
While I totally support Israel's doing what is necessary to defend herself, let's remember that any wide-scale war between the Arabs and Israel will most likely result in another oil embargo, this one initiated by Iran. Oil will shoot up past $100/bbl overnight. Depending on what happens, we can most likely look forward to a recession. If the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is used, then at least we won't have long gas lines. Is it worth it? Yes, if Israel does what is necessary and destroys the terrorist infrastructures of Hamas and Hezbollah.
When war is inevitable and the country is prepared, there is no percentage in putting it off. This time we ought to lay off and let the IDF go for the jugular.
