An officer was injured and several people were arrested during an anti-illegal immigration march involving the Minuteman Project and other groups Saturday evening in Hollywood, police said.
One female officer suffered a minor injury, apparently to her ankle, after clashing with protesters, said Officer Sandra Escalante, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department.
KCAL-TV footage showed counter-protesters along the sidewalks shouting as anti-immigration demonstrators, including members of the Minuteman civilian border patrol group, marched along Hollywood Boulevard.
Escalante said several people were arrested, though it wasn't immediately clear if they were part of the anti-immigration march or the counter-protest.
Police estimated the number of marchers at 200 shortly after 7 p.m. The march began at Hollywood Boulevard and Argyle Avenue, Escalante said.
Messages left with the Minutemen were not immediately returned.

"Illegal aliens" and "embryonic stem cells" are just not words the MSM have in their vocabulary.
Once again, the MSM will spin this as "those evil, violent, racist Minutemen" vs the sweet, honorable and peaceful pro-immigration people.
Local FOX news showed video of a peaceful march in Hollywood by the Minutemen. Of course the illegals and their band of thugs showed up and starting assaulting the marchers, many elderly or older folks. Most of the thugs were teenage or early 20s and many had black bandanas pulled over their faces, What BS. What was shocking was the PD moved in and started knocking some illegals heads and cuffed up a few. I didn't think the PD had it in them. Any citizen has the legal right to public assembly and protection from foreign attackers.
One elderly gentleman was talking to the reporter giving his reason why they were marching and a goon rushed him and menaced him with a big sign, faking like he was going to hit the elderly guy with it. The old guy got pissed and told him to go back to Mexico. They then interviewed a young woman with the thugs, a woman who couldn't even speak English.
This shows the true character of the illegals and their agenda. Bravo to the cops for finally allowing a legal demonstration by LEGAL citizens and for locking up the dirtbags who shouldn't even be here in the first place.

Anyone covering their face at a protest and harassing people are terrorists and should be treated as such.
I saw this new term in the MSM the other day; "Displaced undocumented workers"..Displaced? Who is displacing them? They are displaced, but somehow always seem to be conveniently displaced right across our border. It`s like shadow boxing to the MSM, they do everything they can to duck and weave away from that term "illegal".
Second on the thanks for your update. The question now I think for anyone interested in this problem is how the MSM
will portray this march. No American would have to hide his/her face because of the actions they were taking.

Was this march by the Gilchrist wing of the Minuteman Project, or the Simcox wing, which is refusing to answer questions about fraud?

Here in Los Angeles, if the media referred to "illegal aliens," they wouldn't be able to handle the hate mail and phone calls.

Agreed. But it is downright provocative for the Minutemen to stage their march in an inner city area such as this.
I support their right to do so. I also suspect they intended to put themselves in a situation like this, to inflame passion and let the other side misbehave.
If that is the case, it worked. Not sure if it is a wise or good thing, or not.
