Within a month or so after 9-11, one of the TV news magazines (Dateline?)
revealed that a US guvmint agency had grave concerns about
chem-bio weapons (pre-9-11)
and decided to run a little test.
The agency wanted to see how easy it would be get a real witches brew going.
They tasked this to some scientists/technicians...and handed them a checkbook.
IIRC, the agency honchos were shocked when the group had a reactor up and running
in weeks with off-the-shelf parts for about $1,000,000.
Where did they get the uranium?
