The second reason for the Democrat Party's souring on Lieberman is that he IS a true moderate.

Baloney. Lieberman is one of the most liberal members of the U.S. Senate. His 2005 ACU rating (8) was actually lower than Hillary Clinton's (12).

The question I find myself asking is not: "Why are so many Democrats sabotaging Lieberman's campaign?" -- but: "Why do so many Republicans insist on calling this flaming @sshole a freaking 'moderate?'"

Because they believe his liberal positions on (most) issues are "moderated" by his hawkish stance in the WOT. You're right -- Joe's no moderate. But he's got his head on straight when it comes to dealing with Islamists.

He's good on the war, but on every other issue he is a liberal Democrat. That his own party has rejected him only emphasizes how unbalanced they have become on the issue of the war.

I conjectured the other day that the whole thing was a ruse.
I mean, if Lieberman wins as an independent, he still intends to caucus with the Democrats. True, he has to make a choice, but if I had my back bitten like that, I think I would vote for the leadership that offered me the better deal.

I realize that's not proof that Lieberman's run is a ruse.

Agree completely. Lieberman is no moderate. I also don't understand the sympathetic reaction to Lieberman by some Reps. I wish the Dem vote would be split and enable the Rep candidate to win in CT. Unfortunately, it won't happen. Lieberman will win the Dem nomination in the primary handily. The power and influence of the the Daily Kos are greatly exaggerated.

Lieberman is a Liberal through and through. The problem for the left is Lieberman is not a Marxist.

We mistake the term Liberal and confuse it with Marxist. America needs to be made aware of the difference because the Marxists in the media are doing an excellent job of hiding that.

The same question, in much stronger language of course, has been crossing what's left of my mind. He's a Trotskyite and KerryDeanPelosiReid are Stalinists. BFD.

Who is going to be the Republican taking advantage of this ideological split, some candy-@ss CT RINO in a pink polo shirt and lime-green shorts.

New England: it 's doomed, I tell you. Doomed.
