"this just makes me want to puke"
Me, too. Me, too.
That's a good question; I don't think we would be insuring them, but if my memory serves, those reactors were being paid for by Japan and South Korea via KEDO (I think that the U.S. only paid for heavy fuel oil; looking through the articles that I was able to find, they seem to confirm that memory.)
Also, the Ex-Im Bank of the United States is funding nuclear reactors in Red China.
All I'm saying is, I smell insurance fraud. Do 2 transformers cost $48 million?
This taxpayer is not too amused.
You think this is bad? It is just a pimple on the Palestine corpus. We have been pouring money into Palestine through the UNRelief and Works Administration since 1948. We are talking billions, not just millions. And it never end, and the Palestinians never work and never create anything for themselves. The more ambitious Arabs have left the place long ago. What is left are the two gangs, Hamas and Fatah, which is like giving money to the Crips and the Bloods.
In the world of 300.00 seats they do./sarc
I know the electric company doesn't lay out that kind of cash for equipment. I read snowislander's post where the insurance policy terms are laid out. What a way to start the day. This guarantees that the Palis and terrorists can bomb Israel with no consequences to its infrastructure, should Israel finally retaliate. What else is insured by good old Uncle Sam? Do we insure vehicles used in suicide bombings too? What's the company's logo, a seven headed snake? Grrrrr! (yes, I know this was done during the Clinton years)
Of course that 48 million will be chiseled down to the correct amount after the baksheesh is collected all the way down the line. Just when I think I've heard it all, I read this :(
