If these cops drove Griffin home w/o checking to see if he was drunk, it sounds like he may have received preferential treatment.

I was traveling in the SF area a year ago and called a cab to take me to the airport. I was shocked to see that the cab driver had a mini-DVD perched on the ashtray area in front of him, and was watching it intermittently as he was driving.

I was speechless at first -- I couldn't believe my eyes -- then told him to turn it off.
