A public hanging might be overkill
Washington Times ^ | 6-27-06 | Wes Pruden

A conscientious newspaper editor should never enter a popularity contest, and must keep in mind that a lot of people would string him up to the nearest hanging tree if they thought they could get by with it. It goes with the territory.

... and the people are more liable to string them up if some family members are killed because the editor's decision to print intelligence info prevented the authorities from stopping a terrorist.

Been saying it all day.

Drag em out by the hair and TAR AND FEATHER the cruds.

An old, very effective, cure for runaway hubris.

"A public hanging might be overkill"
I'm ok with a private hanging.

Come on, Wes, we're not asking for the moon here. One little hanging, that's all. Well, a couple. I'd even negotiate on the "public" part. Puh-LEEZE?

The Washington Times is a fairly conservative paper, but even so they come to the immediate defense of any liberal rag that takes criticism. Journalists stick together like Doctors who wont testiy that a bad Doctor killed someone.

Certainly they are trying to protect that license the Constitution gave them to report practically anything in the name of free speech.

However the New York Times has crossed the line.IMO.
A public hanging.? Hardly.
However I do believe they should be forced to register as a Democratic tool and not a newspaper. Theirs is not an effort to inform , but to sway people to vote democrat, and should be advertised as such.

Melanie Morgan says Keller should get 20 years. I say she's gone soft.

I just don't see how a person's right to sell a newspaper, trumps another's right to live.

No, sir! Public hanging 2006. Put it on pay-per-view, rent out the stadiums, and bring the kiddies!

Children today do not have any sense of justice, legal or moral, because in the last generation they've seen the big people get away with terrible crimes. No punishment. Just celebrity and praise.
Bill Clinton is the prime example.
Drug addicted, unwed, bisexual mothers who are Hollywood stars are a very close second.

Actually, Mary McCarthy, Dana Priest, and the NYT are even better examples than Bubba these days. At least he tried to hide the fact that he betrayed this country.

Bah! A public hanging is just about right. Maybe a little underdone.

A public hanging might be overkill.

I really don't see how. I frankly think it should be nothing more than a routine bureaucratic process in a case like this.

Arrest.
Try.
Convict.
Execute.

Since The Treason Times could care less about American lives, why should we care about theirs? Keller needs to be introduced to a Tall Branch a Short Rope and a Skitish Horse.
