University of Colorado at Boulder Interim Chancellor Phill DiStefano today issued a notice of intent to dismiss for cause to Professor Ward Churchill.
His recommendation follows a CU-Boulder investigation into allegations of research misconduct by Churchill.

How about shooting him for Treason?
I bet the people at DU heads are exploding.
Well, are they going to do it or not? This doesn't sound like a big announcement to me.
Professor Churchill may request within 10 days to have President Brown or me forward this recommendation to the Faculty Senate Committee on Privilege and Tenure.
If Professor Churchill does so, a special panel will then conduct hearings about this matter and make a recommendation to the president about whether the grounds for dismissal are supported...

Excellent!!
I can't wait to hear about his intent to sue CU.
The libs are gonna go ballistic.
The conclusion one must draw from such examples isn't that every institution has its bad apples but rather that, at least in the liberal arts in America, moral turpitude and political hucksterism pervades higher education.
Radical criminals with questionable academic credentials flourish in a milieu that bristles with hostility toward real scholars who don't toe the party linewitness the case of former Harvard President Lawrence Summers.
Individuals with prison records or FBI rap sheets don't get into major educational institutions because they fudge their resumes.
They get in because they share the political dogmas of those who hire themand they flourish for the same reason.

The next step...step by step, slowly we turn...
Huh!? Now we have to sit through ANOTHER investigation? Yeesh! And I thought the USCCB moved slowly.
I'm so out of the loop of college language. I have no idea what will happen to him after reading this.
Interesting.
I didn't see an effective date of dismissal, although it's probably moot since I'm sure Churchill will go through the appeals process.
Based on the procedures here, I'm going to guess that it's going to take at least four months to push him out:

D
He probably wants a posse.
Should be quite a Pow-Wow!
A bunch of legal talk, getting ready for the attorney who got Jay Bennish ( The Denver high school geography teacher...) off.
That's tough when you have to throw one of your minions under the bus.
Did he really ask Denise Denton for a date?
My kid will be graduated from MT before this is over (no, he wasn't allowed to attend CO).
Turning another page.
The University of Colorado's report on the investigation of Ward Churchill's alleged scholarly misconduct has just been released.
Churchill was found guilty of deliberate false assertions, misrepresentation of sources, and plagiarism.
Among other things, Churchill was found guilty of passing off others' work as his own (plagiarism), but also of passing off his own work as others'.
This "permits the author to create the false appearance that his claims are supported by other scholars when, in fact, he is the only source for such claims"...

As in the case of Dan Rather, they weren't about to do anyting about him until the internet turned up the heat.
Still, I'll betcha they have to pay MILLIONS to terminate a tenured professor - even a fake one!
" When one of his students, a Mandan-Hidatsa Indian, wrote a piece raising doubts about his claimed biography, he dropped her grade from an A to a C-minus."
the DU is funny. can't figure what they think?????
see ya later you commie picko.

Anyone who takes an ethnic studies class should have their full GPA reduced a full point just on principle alone!
I'd settle for the minimum penalty of 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine, so long as we get a conviction.

Same for the editorial boards of the NYT and LAT.
When will that useless lump of an Attorney General get off his silk-suited posterior and convene a Federal Grand Jury? Present them the evidence, and let them decide if there is grounds to indict folks like Hanoi Jane, JFKerry and Jack Murtha on charges under the above Title.
Ethnic studies should be a one semester class, not a full department.

I wonder why I don't think this will go very far very fast.
He'll sue and we'll have months, maybe years of wrangling, compromise and vocal sparring. This will likely end up with 3/4 of the final board (all leftist)voting to reinstate him with back pay and probably a huge penalty.
Universities created a system that guarantee fakes and nuts stay employed for life. They are now living with their creation. I blame their system as much as the fake professor himself for this ordeal
Let me guess: After (forgone that he will appeal to drag it out) the special panel of the Faculty Senate reports, he can then appeal to the entire F.S., if the panel's decission is not to his liking?
After that, does it then go to the court room, so that in, say another 5 years, he is finally fired?
Sheesh; it would be cheaper, easier, & quicker to find a smallpox blanket to give to him.
Remember that Doris Kearns Goodwin was not penalized by Harvard for her plagerism and the historian at Mt Holyoke who lied for years about his experiences in Vietnam got a one year suspension.
Of course not. Ethnic studies have always been taught as sociology and anthropology. A school dedicating an entire department to a social scam impunes it's own reputation.
The only remaining question is whether or not Churchill will appeal it to the faculty review committee.
Since the finding of research misconduct is the basis of his termination, he's going to find it hard getting on anyplace other than a community college. Harvard or Yale will not come knocking due to his notoriety.....he's provably damaged goods.
I think he's got to appeal, but the case is too solid.
It will, however, provide great fodder for a book. He needs to up the ante on his notoriety so that people either despise him or adore him enough to spend money on a book.
Don't forget--ultimately, we're talking about a state employee who probably belongs to some education union. It's not easy to fire those lifers.
I wonder how many CU students have federal grant monies...that were used to take "The Professors" classes...me thinks they may well having standing under a fraud suit....any legal eagles out there?
SWEET Ann Coulter takes another look at the Ward Churchill controversy:
Tenure was supposed to create an atmosphere of open debate and inquiry, but instead has created havens for talentless cowards who want to be insulated from life.
Rather than fostering a climate of open inquiry, college campuses have become fascist colonies of anti-American hate speech, hypersensitivity, speech codes, banned words and prohibited scientific inquiry.
Even leftists don't try to defend Churchill on grounds that he is Galileo pursuing an abstract search for the truth.
They simply invoke "free speech," like a deus ex machina to end all discussion.
Like the words "diverse" and "tolerance," "free speech" means nothing but: "Shut up, we win."
Call me when he is escorted out of the facility. We ought to have a little departure party.

Here is a man who knew what real Nazis were.
DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD.......
THE WICKED WITCH IS DEAD.......
[actually, he'll probably just go on to pulling down mega-bucks from paid campus speeches, book deals, etc. I'm glad to see the scumbag finally get the boot, but now he will be a 'martyr' for the rabid loony left]
He probably has enough time to retire in any event. This is a net positive, but I doubt that Churchill will suffer much.
The first chapter starts out with Jesse's tragic tale of how Don Rumsfeld forced him to pass out smallpox-infected blankets to the children he and his buddies only wounded (to cause them more pain) at Iraqui orphanages...
LOL.
Your tragic tale will likely happen.
A book and then the movie.
