I am interested what have you done to safeguard the free world.
My full time job does not include safeguarding the free world (other than paying taxes to the US). That has nothing to do with my critique. We have followed the jaw-jaw path and we're still on the road to war-war. Iran's government has said they deserve nuclear weapons. To accept the incentives is to give up on that goal - a serious loss of face.
With regimes like Iran, diplomacy is becoming a check-box that needs to be covered before taking action. So the question remains, if Iran does not accept the package of carrots and sticks, will the E.U. say: "Diplomacy has run its course. It's time for action. (sanctions, embargo, military action). I'm assuming China won't. Russia's decision is anybody's guess.
