LOL! Kerry's posturing, along with the other cowards, is not making the Democrats look good at all. It's their image that they are concerned about, particularly this close to election time.

This is the guy who served in Vietnam, right? Kerry was in Vietnam? I wonder why he never mentioned it when he was running for President?

Mr. Kerry now describes the war in Iraq as a mistake, even though he once supported it. His critics say they believe the new stand reflects more politics than principle... Gee, ya think...???

When a loser thinks he is a winner he must be another Massachusetts politician. With his boring voice and pretentious mannerisms, John Kerry is the gift that keeps on giving.

All one really needs to know about Kerry is he...
still will not acknowledge his antiwar activities kept hope alive for the N. Viets and Viet Cong, even though one of their generals said as much in him memoirs and
still believes there is little if any relationship between the US departure from SE Asia and the killing fields of Cambodia.

If cut n run is so popular with the American people, why don't the Democrats want to run with the idea in prime time? Perhaps they know a retreat by any other name sounds like one. As for Jean Francois, his proposal at last try received just six... count 'em... six votes in the Senate. A pitiful number in a body dominated by Democrats and RINOs. And now he wants to move the pullout date up. The only problem is no one is following him. And this is the same guy who said he had a plan during the presidential election. It turned out its the one where he wants to bid for a race for the exits. Cool game! (laughing) That's how out of touch with public opinion the Democrats are. I hope they keep it up.

I know more about him than I want to know! Why doesn't he go count some ketchup bottles or something.

Mr. Kerry has found his resolve. But it has not made his fellow Democrats any happier. They fear the latest evolution of Mr. Kerry's views on Iraq may now complicate their hopes of taking back a majority in Congress in 2006...Kerry has found his resolve
To: okie01
Is there anything at all to Kerry except stands that are more politics than principle?
To: RDTF
I think we can talk Kerry into revising his proposal to withdrawal in 15 months, 9 days and 13 hours.
It has a certain cachet to it....more precise than just a flat 12 month figure, more nuanced and sensitive to potential hardships that may occur within an al Qaeda suddenly finding itself with no enemy to face, and gives due consideration to the French so they have time to think up a response to the apparent demise of American bullying in the world.

What really scares me about the Loyal American War Hero, John Fitzgerald sKerry, is that he has found a Sandy Burglar to replace the Nat'l Archive records of his war service. He is being a bit to cocky for me. The swifties need to find someone that can document the less than honorable, and Peanut farmer pardon. and this is not.... /sarc

You'll notice that they don't actually disagree with him. They're just mad at him because he's too open about it, and it complicates the campaign PR.Just what I noticed. The NYT is saying, "Yo Kerry. We don't want to show the man behind the curtain until after the mid-term election. Get with it man."
In 1971 it was the honorable vets that he stepped on for furtherance of his career. Now it is his fellow Dems that he steps on so as to be able to say I was the first Senator to call for a troop withdrawal that actually voted to authorise military action.
Feingold still is the anti-war king because he didn't vote for the resolution (no flip - just a flop) but Kerry needs to make a claim as early as possible.
The Dems will spin this as "well most of our party are against a year-end complete withdrawal so we are really moderates and strong on national defense" but it will not pull them across the '06 finishline in first place.
And John Kerry shows himself again to be a non-team player with the tinnest of political ears deluded into thinking he is an important political intellect.

Kerry can't be trusted. Even the dems are starting to realize that. A friend of mine told me a couple of years ago that Kerry has a (bad) reputation in the Senate because, in their behind-the-scenes horse-trading ("I'll vote for yours if you'll vote for mine"), Kerry will promise a vote and then vote the other way or, I supose, not show up. I have no idea where he heard it, but it sure sounds like the kind of thing Kerry would do.
