Why would you ever want to talk to a liberal? Since you can't kill them, the only way to deal with liberals is to ignore them. But fer cripes' sake, don't TALK to them ...! It gives them false hope that they're somehow human, or have something worthwhile to say.
LOL. You make a very valid point. Maybe we should do it once or twice in their lifetimes. You know, like a 50 year sanity check up. Some people are at risk for cancer when they turn fifty. Liberals might turn sane at fifty. Doubtful, but some might.

In general, they believe that government has the potential to be a force for good. They think that federal agencies should be used as a check against the power of big business if only liberals controlled the agencies.
What they fail to understand is that capital is like water. It will seek its own level. If the regulators are national, then big business will spend capital to use government to erect barriers to entry, lock in permanent customers for itself, etc. Whether the controllers are liberal or not, the process will become contaminated, as our founding fathers well understood. The more powerful government gets, the more corruptible it becomes. The only hope is to constitutionally limit government's power.
But then, for the most part, except for the Bushbots, I am preaching to the choir here at FR.

You know, I can understand if you're a democrat you won't like/support George Bush. I get that, I don't like/support democrats, but these people have gone stark raving insane.
You look at Joe Lieberman, here's a guy who's liberal credentials are unimpeachable except for one thing Iraq, and for that they are willing eager to throw him out.
They are insane.
