We've been doing well in Iraq the last few weeks, so CNN needed to drag this idiot out.

Murtha wants the troops deployed over the horizon.

Somewhere, over the rainbow...

but never finds anything of interest that might be detrimental to their heroes on the left.

They do find some interesting things and they do report on them...but they tend to leave out the time frame of when these interesting things occurred. They might say that the immigration situation in Saudi was horrible...but they don't say that it was that way when President Bush took office.

"But I do love it that Murtha cited BOTH instances that Al Qaeda were inspired by. "

If his Congressional district reelects this old fool it will even more shameful than the Ragin' Cagin Nagin being reelected less than a year after his arrogant incompetence being exposed for all the world to see in New Orleans.

I swear that worked when I posted it! Below is the process I used.

1. Search the Congressional Record for the 103rd Congress on Thomas

2. I submitted the following Query, "I expressed my opposition to our deployment to Somalia when it began."

The search returns a page of links of House member comments, including Murtha.

Link to page.

3. Searching the page for Murtha I get the link below

Mr. MURTHA

Or, on the page of links to members Comments, the link:

[Page H9054]

contains Murtha's comments along with the others.

For some reason the links are not holding when posted as remote links.

You can find the Murtha Material on Thomas by searching the bold quote on a search of the 103 Congress Congressional Record and then going to "Mr Murtha". The process should work for you. I have No idea why Thomas makes remote linking crash except to limit everybody citing them as an official record.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write that out.

I will type what I got from that, but again, it might not work for others and they will have to follow the process you described.

Search Results - THOMAS (Library of Congress)
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/F?r103:1:./temp/~r1033YnNPA:e123712:

Thanks again.

Well, I've been searching the 9/11 Commission Report and the internet, and I can't find it now.

But I believe I even posted an article at FR about it, which was based on the 9/11 report. I'll keep looking.

Thank you President Clinton. You took time out from Monica to make another terrible decision. What a legacy you have.

My, my..... cut-and-run Murtha has quite a history of advocating retreat and surrender, does he not? He must be forced to confront the FACT that his preferred withdrawals in Beirut and Somalia only inspired and emboldened the jihadists.... not that I would want any of our people to stay one moment longer than necessary around any jihadist hellholes, but you have to finish the job properly or else the problem just festers and grows worse.

It starts with Vietnam, where we cut and ran without even a significant risk of American Blood.

Then Iran
Then Beruit (one of Frew Reagan mistakes)
Then Somalia
Then Yemin
Then....the Bush Doctrine. Grab your Butt Bin Laden! This ride aint over yet!
