KEY phrase in your post" if they have a brain in their head".

I honestly hadn't considered the scenario you proposed..but I hope and pray you're right.

OK look him up

The paper quoted Hassan Abdul Hadi, who said he was tending to his date palms and apple trees when he heard gunfire and explosions.

Hadi said that he walked to the road and saw an American Humvee, the Times reported.

"I was shocked to see the Humvee -- nothing seemed to be wrong with it," Hadi told the Times. "Then I heard the men shouting 'God is great!' and I saw that they had taken the Americans with them. The gunmen took them and drove away."

I really see no need for this anger. And if I'm right that this was someone's screw up, then I hope you'll be willing to admit I was right. If I'm wrong, I will be all to glad to admit I was. Somehow we've avoided captures since the end of major hostilties. Why did it happen this time.

I really don't appreciate the sarcasm around my stated support of the military and their mission. A lot of people rushed to judgment on all those incidents but I never did and frankly didn't even care about them while so many others were screaming. I would think you might be grateful for those who support the military to such an extent they are willing to cut them major amounts of slack when so many others will not.

Finally, you talk about my "weak knead ass" being stateside during a war. I'm grateful for the service of those who have allowed me to so live. But I also hope they'll be grateful for the support we here stateside give, and the taxes we pay that pay their salaries. We civilians are not quite so useless to the war effort as you'd like to believe. And contrary to you calling me weak kneed, I am among the only 1/3rd or so of Americans still supporting this war ENTIRELY and WITHOUT RESERVATION despite the never ending footage of blood and carnage shown by an agendized media out to turn people against this war. So while support for the war went from 75% to less than 35% now, I remained firm and steadfast in my support of the troops and their mission. I think that gives me some room to be angry that someone's carelessness may now lead to the gruesome deaths of some very brave men...and the national tumult that will come with it.

Yes, I too have little use for the anti-war crowd, but their voice is gaining hold in the nation and upon our politicians. Only a year ago few were willing to not vote a resolution in support of the troops or to refrain from demanding time tables for withdrawls. Yesterday 153 of them voted for that in the Congress. We cannot ignore that the anti-war movement in this country gave them cover to vote in such an unconscienable way. So unfortunately those voices do have an influence and could grow to such a level that staying committed to Iraq becomes untenable. That should cause you concern, because it's what did us in in Vietnam.

So as I say, I hope I'm wrong on this one. I'm not one to ever go off half cocked about the military and am always willing to cut them major slack. But something just doesn't feel right on this one. This one feels like a screw up by someone, though not the men themselves. We've avoided any captures since the invasion's hostilities ended because we've been very careful. What changed today? I will wait to see what comes of this. But that being said I'm willing to turn a blind eye to the possibility someone screwed up. Yes we don't know all the facts, but let's not deny the facts we do know. The military is great, but if this was someone's screw up they deserve to be called on it. But I'm willing to reserve judgment. If only you were so willing to reserve your judgment of me.

If that's the case, then great. But everything I'm hearing is that no support arrived for 15 minutes to begin searching for these men. If other troops were nearby, then how did these men have time to hustle these guys into a car and drive off without anyone giving chase? I hope I'm wrong, but based on what's been reported so far this looks like a screw up.

I am among the only 1/3rd or so of Americans still supporting this war ENTIRELY and WITHOUT RESERVATION

Much more then 1/3 of this nation still fully supports the WOT - Silly MSM polls are meaningless - The latest Ispos poll had to use a weighted model that was 15 + weighted in favor of DEMs - CBS used a +6/8 weighted model in favor of DEMs -

No, without question the American public still support the WOT - Regardless of the fake MSM polls -

Regarding the rest, it has been taken care via PM -

As for being right or wrong - That is not the point - The point is 24/48/72 hours after an event takes place half-way around the world in the middle of a war zone is no where near enough time to be trying to second guess the leadership or actions of those commanders on the ground.

That is the bottom line and the whole premise of my first post - There is nothing to be right or wrong about regarding that....that is simply a fact.

The concern for our missing men (and your clear concern) is where this should stay focused on. Not second guessing commanders on the ground at this point.

Best regards,

You are right I think a clear majority support the overall WOT. Why they can't see Iraq is an intergral, and now the most important part of that war arguably, is beyond me. Well, I guess it's not such a mystery. The MSM has brainwashed them thoroughly. And I do recognize they purposely skew their polls by over-representing Democrats.

Anyway, I am praying I'll wake up in the morning and hear the men have been found. It's daylight now in Iraq and I have no doubt our forces will leave no stone unturned to find our men. And I recognize I rushed to judgment. I will withhold criticism and not make assumptions. I accept your criticism on that.
