Arpaio backed the democrat and turned on the conservatives in AZ. He backed the democrat who won Governor.

So Arpaio wasn't found guilty since he wasn't on trial. However, now the way has been paved for Saville to bring a civil suit against Arpaio, and that is going to cost us plenty.
As far as calling me a liar regarding the prostitution sting information I posted, I got it from the Tribune - not the New Times. I'd hardly consider them a leftist rag. So are they "liars" too?
I can't stand Arpaio because he's corrupt. I saw what he did with Hendershot (double-dipping is alright by you, I guess), then how he turned on Bearup. I had just moved to Arizona so I didn't know much about him. I did a little research and then came to the realization that he's a corrupt, grandstanding, power-hungry, vindictive jerk. I don't think a person like that should be a position of power, so I do what I can to educate people.
Some choose to stick their heads in the sand, and that's their prerogative. I choose to speak out about him, which is MY prerogative. To call me names because you don't like what I say is what I would expect from a DU-er or Michael Moore, not a rational conservative.

People question your politics for exactly this reason. I said "I like the guy" and now you're saying I "adore him." That's a leftie tactic that they use all the time in their discussions. If you're wondering why people question your politics, that's just one more reason. As for why I like him, it's because he's a conservative. He doesn't consult the latest opinion poll to decide what to do, and he doesn't back down and change his policies if a handful of people with protest signs stand in front of his office. Several years ago, the operators of America West Arena asked him if he could get some Posse volunteers to help with security during events. He said he could. Then they came back and said that they didn't want any Posse members carrying guns while on duty. So Sheriff Arpaio withdrew the offer. He could have required us to disarm ourselves and he would still get the publicity, but he doesn't screw his own volunteers like that. Those are a couple of reasons why I admire him and will continue to volunteer my time to work for him.
BTW, I looked at Dan Saban's website and read up on what he had to say during his campaign for Sheriff. He appears to be a reasonable man, and if he ever runs for Sheriff and Joe Arpaio isn't running, I will vote for him. Although now that he's the Chief of Police in Buckeye, I don't know if he'll be a candidate for Sheriff again.
