A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day

We could not have sunsets or sunrise glory without the sun. It is the most prominent feature in our solar system. It is the largest object and contains approximately 98% of the total solar system mass. One hundred and nine Earths would be required to fit across the Sun's disk, and its interior could hold over 1.3 million Earths. The Sun's outer visible layer is called the photosphere and has a temperature of 6,000°C (11,000°F). This layer has a mottled appearance due to the turbulent eruptions of energy at the surface.

'Morning, Dolly. Beautiful photos! You forgot the "Amen" at the end of the Pledge. (Just teasing). When I was in elementary school, I always said "Amen" at the end. I can't remember if I was the only one or if others in my class said it, too. But I thought it was a prayer just like all the other ones I said. :)

Focus On Being

He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. —Psalm 147:3-4 During a small-group exercise at a seminar, we were asked to introduce ourselves without referring to our occupations. The challenge was to explain who we are instead of telling what we do. It was not easy to focus on being instead of doing.

Dr. William H. Thomas, a geriatric specialist, has pointed out that babies begin life by being. As we approach adulthood, the emphasis shifts to accomplishment. Then, as we grow older and our energy wanes, we must refocus on being. “Elderhood brings us full circle,” Thomas says, “to a life that favors being over doing. This is a gift of great value.”

But the search for being isn’t confined to the sunset years. Jesus said that the proper focus is the antidote for anxiety at any age. He told His followers to look at the birds and flowers, which are not defined by what they do, and yet God cares for them.

Oswald Chambers said: “‘Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow’ . . . they simply are! Think of the sea, the air, the sun, the stars, and the moon—all of these simply are as well, yet what a ministry and service they render.”

I used your prayer list this am due to time crunch. Don't think mine is up to date.

My cable was NOT on when I got up at 4 to finish the thread. It was restored about 8:45 & so I had to scramble and didn't get to design a special pledge like I wanted.

I believe my name on the finest schedule is Murphy's clue to "get busy"

I am leaving in a few minutes to take my friend Paul for his annual colonscopy. Long drive both ways to his place then the medical facility & we were told the time in was to be 3 hours.. so I will be gone a good part of the day.
