"US Embassy evacuated"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Initial reports referred to "a suspicious package" but that description was later changed. Oslo police, who have a permanent guard station just across the street from the embassy, got their first call on the object at 10:55am.

The evacuation began at 11:30, according to police.

Bomb experts were called in to investigate the object.

The embassy is located at a busy intersection across from the Nobel Institute and the Royal Palace on the fringe of downtown. The evacuation disrupted tram and bus traffic through the area, as well as snarled traffic."
