"Kerry and his sympathizers have more in mind than settling old scores, though. The point is to inoculate the senator and other war-squeamish Democrats against charges of cowardice or ill will toward the troops. When Rep. Jack Murtha called for the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq last fall, a single charge of cowardice made him the victim -- instead of the troops whose mission he undermined. Frank Rich and Helen Thomas cried that Republicans were trying to "swift boat" him. When Cindy Sheehan's credibility was questioned, she herself claimed to be the victim of "more 'swiftboating.'" Any Democrat's long-ago war experiences, however brief, have become his absolute shield from any criticism related to his military positions. By this logic, anyone who has once prayed would qualify for sainthood."

Kerry and Gore are both mentally unfit for public office.
The Nation dodged two bullets, imho.

Kerry is an opportunistic, Marxist liberal that only cares about power and control, like most socialists, and otherwise hates America and the military. He is totally unfit to be C-in-C. His political cowardice and opportunism played on the backs of Viet Nam vets (the dedicated ones unlike Kerry) was a total disgust to the nation and a major embarassment as most of the anti-America, anti-war, anti-military liberals are.
Our enemies would have loved to have seen Kerry as President (thought makes me ill) as well as the U.N. who would have welcomed him with open arms...

John Kerry could end all this by simply signing the SF180 authorizing the release of his military records. He knows this. That is why he won't sign the SF180.

Is it also a 'swift boat' tactic to lie about the war, John? You are a 'swift boater' yourself, Johnny, aren't you?
Kerry is such a loser.
