Schwarzenegger to hit the road a day after election [...and abandon McClintock after primary]

After months of having the Democrats all over the state airwaves, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger will be wasting no time after the June 6 primary to get back into the starring role in California politics.

.... Then, it's Terminator Time: Word is filtering out that he'll hit the road on a big bus tour the next day. If that's true, it will not only put the pedal to the metal -- it won't give the Dems (or hey, the press corps) much time to recuperate from what's been a scorched earth campaign.

...... One other thing: Arnold looks to be going solo in his first big campaign trip. Remember that fuzzy warm stuff about Lt. Gov. candidate Tom McClintock being on the ticket? Well, plans for multiple buses to accommodate a couple of the downticket GOPers have been scrapped

Arnie may change his mind when he discovers that McClintock got over 200,000 more votes on Primary day than he did - even though both are running unopposed.

The MSM's next barrage, make up a division between McC and Arnold.

McClintock SUPPORTS Arnold.

I support them both.

Ah, but does Arnold support McClintock? Or Poochigian? Will he support Strickland (or only his Abel lapdog)?

The MSM doesn't seem to be the one that scrapped the multi-bus plan. What's up with that, DL? Do tell!

The question was: Does Arnold support McClintock?

Oh no, we're not going into another Ah-nold / McClintock fight, are we? We need that like we need Arianna Huffington as White House Spokeswoman.

Where are the border hijackers when we need them? Someone PLEASE hijack this thread! Ah-nold - McClintock --- AAARRRRRRRGGHHH!!!!!

Just as long as Arnold "needs" him. After Arnold wins the primary though, hold on to your hats. Uncle Teddy will be envious of the leftist rhetoric we'll hear from the Governator.

FR will be united again and every Arnold apologist will become a believer (except for FO, I think he/she/it might be a relative of Arnold's).

He's not already?

I think you are overly optimistic, but time will tell!

Arnold needs to remmber that he was elected to play the role of a Republican Governor.

Big deal. They'll have 5 months to campaign together. Maybe Arnold's campaign advisors thought it best he kick off his campaign without having someone else tagging along right at the start.

You guys always have to find some way to read in the worst to what Schwarzenegger does. Get over it. Do you prefer we go back to tax hiking, illegal alien driver's license one party Democratic rule in this state? And without worrying about re-election in the next 4 yrs., Arnold will be able to move more to the right on some things. If nothing else, we'll have 4 more years of a guy running interference on the wackball legislature's worst moves such as homosexual history lessons in the schools which Arnold has already said he'll veto.

The question was: Does Arnold support McClintock?

Schwarzenegger has not used his coattails to support any other Republican for any office except for Steve Poizner, a liberal Republican from San Mateo for State Assembly.

I asked a question regarding a post (one that she refused to answer, btw).

It wasn't intended to be about the Governor's race. It was intended to focus on the need to fill some of the down-party offices with Republicans and whether or not those candidates would get his support. I agree there are several months until the general election. I hope that this move (cancelling the buses) is not indicative of a future absence in those important campaigns.

He also campaigned for Abel Maldonado in his race for Senate (another liberal Republican,
currently carrying Arnold's water with the Minimum Wage hike legislation).

Thanks. I didn't know that. That district is below the SF Bay Area's TV coverage.
