Did you see the movie "Spellbound"? It was terrific.

We haven't watched it yet, but have heard that it is a "Must See!".

I'm not impressed with the trailers that I have seen for "Akeelah and the Bee". It looks like a movie trying to push a social agenda instead of just celebrating a bunch of kids that have worked hard to attain a goal.

I skipped Akeelah as I had the same impression. It's also not an inspirational movie for children when it's rated PG for language.

I was concerned about that too but I enjoyed the movie. There wasn't as much of that as I thought. It was more about a nice teacher/student relationship.

That's not true. It's a great movie. It starts out a little "agendaish" but it will leave you weeping by the sheer goodwill in the movie for people of all ethnic backgrounds. I loved it.

Make sure you get the right movie (Spellbound). There are two out there by the same name.
