Terri's Day and nation's independence protects life culture

Kevin Fobbs May 29, 2006

America's Culture of Life is truly the legacy of one woman whose death forever changed our nation because of actions that were not in her hands but in those of her husband and his lawyers. Yet for millions of Americans we will forever link our own celebration of our nation's independence to the courage of the Schindler family to go forward past the tragedy, past the personal sorrow, past the searing anguish to help America draw a distinct line in the sand, to issue a clarion call to America.

Our 4th of July is coming... Our Culture of Life Independence Day is on its way. Our month of Independence is a message that March 31st (Terri's Day) will signal, that July 4th will signal... and that the month of July will signal to defend the Culture of Life before we lose it forever.

When we talked with our family members or even our neighbors or our friends we may have spent but a moment reflecting upon why we are even gathered on a Memorial Day afternoon. Do we think about the sacrifice of our soldiers and of their families? Do we think about the long goodbyes which are never long enough... as the military families send their loved ones to war, to battle, to stand firm for our freedoms... for our life... for our nation and its values of faith?

How does Terri Schiavo and her legacy tie into this? Terri's legacy and Terri's Day is a representation of a right to live, and freedom to have the liberty to not have it compromised away, devalued by inconvenience, or litigated away by judges who celebrate a culture of death that would rob life from the womb, steal life from a hospital or hospice bed, and destroy and shatter a family's love for a daughter, a sister and aunt who was given a gift from God, but had it separated from her as easily as an ant would have its life take by an uncaring shoe... extinguished forever.

The families who send their loved ones off to war have to wonder as well, does America value their sacrifice? The families of the military have to wonder just where does its society draw the line on its values? A soldier who is in battle in Iraq or Afghanistan has to wonder if a Florida judge can take away the life of an innocent, what is the measure of his life? Would a judge in America suddenly decide that if he were injured, if he had to sacrifice a limb that the protesters outside his hospital bed would have more rights than he would or his family? Would this soldier have to wonder that if he or his fellow soldier were killed in battle, that upon their return that the protesters who would stand outside of his funeral... have more rights to be protected than the rights his family would have to a military burial with honor?

You see, the Culture of Life is about Terri Schiavo, because Americans now have to examine the life of our culture itself. We have to wonder if we as a nation of Christians and of a nation of faith and of a nation of compassion would allow for a state to murder an innocent woman and strip her family of their loved one then as a nation would we allow America to have other symbols of life, of our nation to be peeled away as well, all in open sight and in plain view of a dispassionate nation?

What does our American Culture mean if we allow millions of illegal aliens to literally browbeat us into submission by demanding that because they have stolen across our borders, demanded and received protection from local law enforcement in numerous cities throughout the U. S., obtained free or reduced educational opportunities by state public colleges that our own children could not qualify to receive the same financial aid assistance for. Are we that defenseless to let illegals strip our state coffers of housing assistance for loans and mortgages when tens of thousands in almost every state in America have legal citizens who are homeless, impoverished, or working poor or middle class Americans who need similar assistance but cannot receive it. And they are legal! They are citizens! They are Americans.

What is so wrong about our nation when we are so ready to compromise our freedoms, our culture's life, the life of an innocent and the taking of any life is the taking of our own children's life and their child's. And with each successive generation the nation and its life, its values, its traditions, and its language will disappear because we as Americans were too preoccupied — too narrow — to see that an illegal alien was taking your child's education, that a crusading death culture judge was preparing a bed, a room, a legal precedent to take your child, grandchild or sister or parent.

That is why I have stayed my course to defend the Culture of Life and to ask my fellow Americans to begin to understand that as Terri Schiavo's life was slowly ebbing from her body and as her mother Mary, father Bob, sister Suzanne, and brother Bobby waited in the Florida early morning air on March 31st, 2005, America was having part of its soul ebb away as well.

What will it take to spark an interest, a concern, and a passion for protecting one's own life? Some may say that it would take a clear and present danger — like tanks rolling down your neighborhood street or another 9/11 that strikes at the heart of America. Do we have the convenience to wait? Do we wait until a state legislature in Maine or California or Delaware or Ohio or Illinois decides that your mother's decision to live is determined by a hospital "bean counter" who decides that your mother's life is not based upon a "Will To Live" but an ability to pay her bill? What about a baby, not born, but already set for murder in the womb — not because the mother is pro-life or pro-death but because "the law" says the unborn baby's life is expendable because the baby's genes are determined to be part of a class or a group or a race or of an ethnicity which pre-programs the child, un-born, to death?

America is being murdered in small pieces. It is seeing its values, its life, its culture disemboweled with the finesse of a skilled surgeon. And it is America's poll takers and its legislators and its uncaring, disinterested, and uninvolved who are handling the scalpel. Take the scalpel away. Contact www.Terrisfight.org to join the Foundation's battle to educate America about the right to live. Go to Terri's Day on www.kevinfobbs.com to learn about new updates on Terri's Day and the event to celebrate the Culture of life.

So on Independence Day and Independence month of July will we have any Americans who will sign up and join the Culture of Life movement in their community? Even if it is to sign a pledge, hand out a flyer, become aware of legislators and judicial candidates who have agreed to stand firm for the Culture of Life — a crusade that is based not only upon the life of Terri Schiavo's legacy but equally crucial based also upon the legacy of the right to live, to defend our culture and the life of its values.

Terri's Day is not the end of a national movement but the beginning of a national contract with itself to stand for a future that our nation can guarantee for its children and for a culture that will insure life. The right to live will be Terri's legacy — our legacy... one nation under God. Join us in your homes, on your family picnics, out camping and celebrating July 14th and 15th ... Our American Culture of Life belongs to each and every one of us... We must protect it. Let's celebrate together.

Reminder, Diana Lynne's article of April 1...

"For years, people who never asked to die have been quietly starved without much public attention, based on state laws and court opinions that permit third parties to make deadly decisions with little or no scrutiny or accountability," said attorney Burke Balch, the director of the NRLC's Robert Powell Center for Medical Ethics and the chief architect of the model law. "The outcry over the Schindler-Schiavo case has awakened millions of Americans to the inhumanity of this practice. Now we must act to reverse this trend, and restore a presumption against starvation and dehydration."

Regret, not reform, marks death anniversary State, fed lawmakers capitulate on Terri-inspired legislation

>> When you're sick, the last thing you think of is going to the beauty parlor.

Frankly, I don't think much about going to a beauty parlor even when I feel healthy as a horse :-)

On a more serious note -- and also about female psychology -- I came across the transcript of ME Dr. Thogmartin's post-autopsy press conference. Certain visitors won't like it, but here he was again, debunking the bulimia myth, and in shirtsleeve language that captures the feelings of a slender, 26-year-old, attractive Terri Schiavo.

THOGMARTIN: Yes, I went back and interviewed as many people as I could contact, coworkers, obviously her husband, her family. Basically, what I'm left with is the impression that the potassium level of 2 was met with just belief, no skepticism, from day one, and actually presented at trial as being a fact.

[What he is saying, if I may use clearer wording, is that lawyer Gary Fox's bulimia story was immediately taken on FAITH, not fact. You can almost see him roll his eyes that it was "actually" presented at trial "as being a fact."]

[I roll my eyes listening to trolls, but you have to understand, this preposterous theory is all they have to alibi Michael Schiavo. So they keep it up, even after the myth has been exploded by the ME.]

And even though the medical literature even at that time showed that epinephrine, ventricular fibrillation, people with any sort of arrest, can have their potassium level drop precipitously. And since 1990, that has been confirmed repeatedly in several larger studies.

[This is flawless Columbo reasoning: You don't NEED a bulimia myth when you have several obvious and scientifically tested explanations, well known at the time, to fully explain that degree of potassium deficiency. It is bad thinking to look at a far-fetched theory -- and cardiac arrest due to bulimic purging is very rare indeed -- when you have an obvious answer to the puzzle right at hand.]

[Note that he says cardiac arrest can CAUSE the hypokalemia. That points to another obvious possible source of a low potassium reading -- violence.]

So once you eliminate the potassium problem, which is known in bulimics [this is classic medical investigation -- the bulimic myth has been RULED OUT], you end up with a 26-year-old that used to be heavy, that now lost the weight, is reveling in her thinness now, enjoying her life, and doesn't want to gain the weight back. And if that's a bulimic, there's a lot of bulimics out there. It's just not enough

Ping to wagglebee's thread...

Do No Harm says the list of 72 diseases and conditions reflects cases in which human patients have benefited from adult stem-cell treatments. In the side-by-side comparison with cases in which humans have benefited from embryonic stem-cell treatments, ESCR comes up short -- showing, in fact, "none."

Charlie Crist has already destroyed life. He nickels and dimes life for political expediency. He filed to run for Guv finally and he was accompanied by his sister, Catherine Crist KENNEDY, an administrator at St. Pete College (where Mikey went to nursing school to learn how to NOT HELP TERRI) but he needed to hoodwink the jury in the malpractice case.

AMAZING, that the St. Pete Times seems to be favoring Tom Gallagher in their article (excerpt) TOM GALLAGHER FOR FLA GOVERNOR --- (I believe Tom is gaining momentum. If Crist still wins, God help us all. There are citizens who are switching from Crist to Gallagher once they find out he's a secularist who's anything but for a culture of life. People will be getting the most handled politician in Amerika.)

“GALLAGHER A HIT AT HILLSBOROUGH REC”

“The approach to Tuesday night's meeting of the Hillsborough Republican Executive Committee didn't look too good for Tom Gallagher. Charlie Crist signs lined the curb outside the Alfano Conference Center south of the University of South Florida; and a burgundy Hummer plastered with Crist signs sat, precariously perched on a grass berm with its lights flashing.”

“But Gallagher, delivering an expanded version of his stump speech, won repeated applause from the crowd as he talked insurance, education and tort reform. And laughter answered his story about how his Catholicism and his wife's Baptist tradition have played out with their son Charlie, who was baptized Catholic but attends a Baptist church.”

“The performance netted him at least one Crist supporter, maybe more: ‘I'm so impressed I'm going to put a Gallagher bumper sticker on my new car,’ said Faye Getchell, who said she had planned to vote for Crist but won't anymore. ‘(Gallagher) hit all my buttons. I'm so conservative I squeak.’"

"He's shaken my faith (that Crist is the best candidate)," said Jason Montes, an insurance defense lawyer wearing a Crist campaign sticker on his shirt. ‘I'm not so sure now who I'll vote for. I was impressed.’"

The ACLU would luv for Crist to be governor. For any freepers to believe that Crist is a conservative, they need their heads examined. I wouldn't be surprised if moveon.org wasn't donating to Crist. He's so not a republican or a conservative. He proved that as Fla AG. Crist wouldn't know a civil right if it bit him on his skinny behind. Conservatives are for civil rights. Liberals used to be but now they are for Charlie Crist.

1338. TERRI WAS SCREAMING when she was told her feeding tube was coming out (because remember they tried to kill her twice this way before and she did experience starvation and dehydration before). Terri KNEW IT MEANT SHE WOULD BE KILLED.

Terri screamed. Her dad told her she would have a milkshake again soon and to hang in there. Terri was afraid.

Florida's RINO Judges and politicians like Charlie Crist and Senator Jim King and even people from Terri's county including former Sheriff Rice and Leslie Waters helped MURDER HER for Michael Schiavo.

Charlie Crist says "probably" a lot. He isn't very decisive, is he?

He's in Tallahassee because he "probably" wouldn't do very well if he had a private law practice.

He's a secular humanist, not pro-life and not a conservative! Just because he was conservative on SOME MEASURES doesn't make him a conservative. He was 100% stalinist on the value of Terri's life. As governor, is he going to stay out of everything which is how he spent his time as Fla AG?

Vote for Tom Gallagher and Florida will "definitely" not probably move forward instead of to a dark place run by the ACLU and their ilk. Crist is with the ACLU. Hello, Floridians, wake up. If you want ilk in charge, keep deluding yourself that Crist is one of us. He isn't and I don't mean "probably"!

BLIND SHEIK JUDGE GREER SHOULD BE IMPEACHED:

http://www.judgegeorgegreer.com/

Judge Mark Shames and then Judge George Greer, Judge W. Douglas Baird, Judge David Demers, the 2nd DCA and the Florida Supremes started Terri on a DEATH SPIRAL. She was fine the day they took away her nutrition and hydration.

TERRI WAS FINE AND THEY MURDERED HER FOR THE CULTURE OF DEATH. What was their finder's fee and hit fee?

Terri's killers will have to pay it all back on the other side and then some.

Judge Greer's vision is 20/200. He can see the end of his nose but he knew without reasonable doubt that "I don't want anyone feedin' that girl." "The law of the case is that she will die."

The loony right isn't loony. The loony one is on the bench and pulling in $140K per year and he MURDERED TERRI. (what else did Greer get is what inquiring minds want to know?) That was some kind of pact between the judges, The Pinellas County Sheriffs, the death lawyers and Mikey & the murderers, well, and with all the state agencies, including Fla AG Crist. They made a pact to kill an innocent woman.

You want to see evil? Visit Florida's Gulf Coast. Pinellas or Pasco County will do.

But Michael Schiavo doesn't want the voters to forget. He wants them to remember how Congress not only intruded on his family's private life and ignored the clear rulings of the courts, but it also played politics with every citizen's right to self-determination at the end of life

Michael Schiavo is still not using his nursing education to help those not as fortunate as he. I hope someone is doing a FOI Request to find out exactly how many days supervisor schiavo (who was fired from McDonalds in the past) has missed from work doing the devil's work supporting candidates who are for death, which is no different than death by the hand of terrorists. Murder is evil and illegal no matter who the perpetrator is.

''He talked on it,'' Smith said. ''Well, I stopped it.'' Democrats ready for primary showdown

A democrat brags that he stopped a life. He snuffed out a human being and he brags about it on the campaign trail.

They have fallen so far they do not realize how sick they are.

The only pro-life candidate for Governor is Tom Gallagher, who is Catholic and in addition, his wife leads a major women's prayer group.

Gallagher is the only one with common sense and business experience too. Crist is just a lawyer who couldn't cut it so he mangled the state instead.
