The timing of this attempted confrontation is telling, trying to get it out and over with early. Clearly, he still doesn't understand the scope of his opposition.

Someone oughta tell "JFK-lite" to watch out for those military hat exchanges. Bit of bad form to schmooz with genocidal war criminal types... as Wesley Clark found out during his campaign to be the next US President
A smiling NATO Commander Wesley Clark exchanges hats with Serbian war criminal General Radko Mladic, prompting horrified onlookers to later exclaim "It was like cavorting with Hermann Goehring"

Wow....a hat... Yeah, a hat. I guess that hat proves he was a highly competent boat commander and war hero after all, in spite of scores of eyewitness accounts to the contrary. I got to gets me one of them there magical hats, I wants to hang out at the local Legion hall and brag about howze I got wounded in the butt by some grains of rice. If I got the hat nobody can call my bluff.
No wonder the guy's a loser, he hasn't got a lick of common sense.

Mr. Kerry has signed forms authorizing the Navy to release his record something he resisted during the campaign and hired a researcher to comb the naval archives in Washington for records that could pinpoint his whereabouts during dates of the incidents in dispute. Kerry has sort of signed his SF-180

Well, if he's got a hat, we're lost, it must all be true according to him.
He's got a freakin' hat!
How can anyone argue with that?
