Board has plan to oust ROTC from S.F. schools Members want to cut program over 'Don't ask, Don't tell' Heather Knight, Chronicle Staff Writer Tuesday, May 23, 2006 The San Francisco Board of Education appears poised to kick the military's Junior ROTC programs out of the city's public schools, saying the Pentagon's refusal to allow openly gay service members is deplorable and not in line with the school district's anti-discrimination policy. School board members are scheduled to introduce a resolution tonight outlawing the JROTC because of the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" rule. The resolution calls that policy an "unjust, indefensible, unintelligent, state-sanctioned act of homophobia." The resolution, which won't get a final vote until June, would create a task force to develop a similar program without a tie to the military and would phase out JROTC by the 2007-08 school year. JROTC currently has 1,625 students in seven San Francisco public high schools: Balboa, Burton, Galileo, Lincoln, Lowell, Mission and Washington. Students enroll on a voluntary basis and earn physical education credits for participating in the military-sponsored program. The students engage in physical training such as running, push-ups and jumping jacks; and discipline training such as marching, drill-practice and using a mock chain of command. They also study military history and perform community service.

Fine. Withold all federal aid from this school district, then.
More anti-americanism from the sexually perverse. As usual with this sub culture, personal priorities prevail.
Where's an earthquake when you need one.
Just leaves you speechless.
This is not surprising. I would expect the next step would be for states and municipalities to nullify federal laws with which they disagree. Perhaps after that they will secede. I doubt there would be any serious effort to stop them.
Why not have special all-gay units in the Army, identified as such with distinctive lavender patches and nicknames llike "The Fighting Lesbians" or "The Homos From Hell", and let them prove how good they are in combat? Then, the San Francisco city council could adopt these units as their own, and pass resolutions congratulating them on their fighting spirit, etc. Everybody'd be happy.
Well there you go. It shouldn't be so complicated. And the city'll have no trouble raising $$ from private donors to make up the difference.
Done and done.
But Billy Jeff Clinton was the mastermind of this policy.
How can they not like a B.J. plan?
I agree.
Discriminating against cheerful people is just wrong.
Withold all fed money from the schools. Also, the military s hould not bother protecting SF then.
The Board of Education is made up of wanna-be politicians who don't think twice about using school kids as pawns.
""The Fighting Lesbians" or "The Homos From Hell"
Now that might scare the Hell outa the jihadis!
I suspect that if the military were to openly welcome gays the City of San Francisco would still find a way to not welcome the military.
The wicked freely strut about when what is vile is honored among Men. -Holy Bible
These guys are just too much. IF S.F. is attacked, will they refuse help from the military because of don't ask , don't tell? They won't want to be defended by supposedly homophobic soldiers?
And as we know, that policy originated with Clinton. Did they protest at the time? Did they pass these stupid resolutions at the time Clinton was there about how unfair they thought it was? Why are they doing this now?

Just myself, but when I drive through San Francesspool I put on the asbestos windshield wipers for the inevitable fire and brimstone.
