WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-Littleton) recently won four awards for his support of lower taxes, less government spending and other conservative causes. Tancredo received the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Spirit of Enterprise Award, the National Taxpayers’ Union’s Friend of the Taxpayer Award, the American Conservative Union’s “Best and Brightest” for his 100 percent conservative rating, and the Susan B. Anthony List’s Protection of the Unborn Award.

“The Sixth District sent me to Congress to reduce the size of government, lower taxes, protect the unborn and secure our borders,” said Tancredo. “I am humbled and honored by the wide array of conservative organizations that have recognized my work.”

“Tom is a leader who has fought for legislation to spur job creation, increase productivity and keep our economy growing.” said Thomas J. Donohue, U.S. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO. “We’re proud to present him with this award on behalf of America’s businesses, both large and small.” The U.S. Chamber is the world's largest business federation, representing more than three million businesses and organizations of every size, sector and region.

“If every Member of Congress had voted as responsibly as Rep. Tancredo did in 2005, Americans could enjoy much lower taxes and less waste in government. Overburdened taxpayers in Colorado and across the nation owe Rep. Tancredo a debt of gratitude for his hard work on their behalf,” said John Berthoud, President of the National Taxpayers Union.

The way things are going, I have a strange feeling Tancredo is going to get caught with a hooker in a sleazy hotel.

LOL! This actually comes from Tancredo's own office. Nothing self-agrandising about this.

Yea but to hear some folks around here tell it he's either a DU plant, a loose cannon, or a rabid Bush hater.

"This actually comes from Tancredo's own office."

Who else are you going to hear it from? The MSM? The White House who won't let him inside it?

He'll disjoint his arm patting himself too much on the back.

I am really sick of the nit-pickers on the site that attack a person that has stood up the white house and the elites for a very long time. Never do they attack what he says, they only attack the characterization of what he says. He has never called for mass deportation, he has consistently called for stiff enforcement that will cause deportation by attrition.

Oh wait, there's my favorite! He's just a one-trick pony!

Please. The man is as conservative as they come.

I'd prefer to see Mike Pence come out of the House and on the ticket in 2008, but that doesn't detract from Tancredo. He's a solid conservative and doesn't deserve the flack people throw at him.

You left one thing out, he never misses an opportunity to toot his own horn.

Clicked on the links, and he looks solid to me - I don't quite see why he rates only a B+ from the NRA...

Defense is our most important consideration, and it will be so in 2008 and far beyond. If Tom were to run for the presidency, the Democrats would dig and more than address defense related issues. Hypocrites that they are, they would take a pro-defense position while slinging mud. The need to dump public education and the NEA is also important to many.

It is important to think through any and all situations and consequences in advance.

If our current president knew how to toot his horn a little better, maybe his approval rating wouldn't be in the thirties.

If the tooting is warranted, toot away, Congressman Tancredo.
