Senate Immigration Bill Would Allow 100 Million by 2020 (updated numbers)
Heritage Foundation ^ | May 15, 2006 | by Robert Rector

(Update: On Tuesday, May 16, the Senate passed Sen. Jeff Bingaman's (D-NM) amendment to S. 2611 that significantly reduced the number of legal immigrants who could enter under the bill's "guest worker" program. As a result of this change, our estimate of the number of legal immigrants who would enter the country or would gain legal status under S. 2611 falls from 103 million to around 66 million over the next 20 years.)

*Funny how a democrat did this. I'd keep my eyes open on anything, because I'm sure one amendment could change it all. Regardless, I don't want anything passing conference if it isn't enforcement first. I believe we need immigration reform, but that's a huge debate with many good ways to improve the overall situation for AMERICA.

I personally don't see the problem here: the USA is a nation of immigrants!!

Historically speaking, all nations are nations of immigrants. The problem is illegal immigration obviously.

An influx of this magnitude is insane. It must be stopped or the US as we know it will disappear.

Orcslayer's account is already dead.. ( banned or suspended )

Here's what I was going to say to ( It. )

_______________________________________________________

Let's clear something up here..

Nobody is talking about ending immigration here..
We all understand our "roots" and ancestral heritage..
That's not what this is about..

It's about whether a soveriegn nation has the right to determine and control the rate of immigration to that nation..

This is also a nation of law, at least until recently..
There are those that wish to change our nation by changing the law, or even breaking the law..

Some of them want a Socialist State, with guaranteed income and guaranteed health care, and guaranteed jobs with guaranteed 6 week vacations..
They want it regardless of what they actually contribute..

Approximately 9 out of 10 new LEGAL immigrants already come from Mexico..
Did you know that??
Ever wonder how Lithuanians feel about the disparity in immigration quotas??
Ever wonder how Ecuadorians or Salvadorans feel about the favoritism displayed for Mexicans, when Mexico itself brutally enforces it's own borders and is extremely intolerant of "foreign" workers or immigrants coming into Mexico??

The only "problem" here, is that you have been fooled into believing the hype...
Spend a little more time reading up on the subject and look at something besides the Main Stream Media for information..

An informed opinion has a lot more impact..

I have been covering, ( Or, as Seamole calls it...-backhoe's pseudoblog--... ) psuedo-blogging, for years, a couple of the elements in WWIV ( III being the Cold War ), in which we find ourselves engaged.

The first element?

Islam, a Religion of Peace®? ( links, blogs, quips, quotes, aggravating pictures ) is located here- click the Pic, and scroll backwards:

The other, somewhat interlocking element is this one:

"Thunder on the Border," click the picture:

What is happening under the radar is that the alien lobby, certain elements of radical Islam, and some on the Left share common goals, tactics, and exploitations of our system and society.

Work backwards on my links to see all the shady left-wing and terrorist-enabling organizations backing this rubbish.

Still WAY too many. Drop it to 1 million a year (which is STILL a lot of people).

This is why the Senate bill has the potential to be such a debacle. Boehner, Blunt and the other House leaders seem to be the only ones right now who are serious about Immigration ENFORCEMENT, not just reform.

Where would this 100 million people come from?

According to the CIA Factbook for Mexico, there are 107,449,525 people in Mexico. Does that mean that ALL of them will be here by 2020? Who will still be living in Mexico?

Wouldn't it be easier for us to take over Mexico by 2020, if the end result is the same?

It must be stopped or the US as we know it will disappear.

And businesses will be there providing goods & services as fast as they can be delivered. Memo to the unenlightened: get in while the gettings good. You don't want to be a victim of the new America without at least a little cash to comfort the fall.

"Where would this 100 million people come from?"

All over South/Central America (primarily).....not just Mexico.

There's 500+ million people in Mexico/Central/South America. I'm sure they could make enough people during that time (to colonize all of America), especially with the leftward march down there.

Unless they'e coming in through the airports, they'd have to first get into Mexico before crossing the border. I thought Mexico had a pretty tight southern border.

Allow me a little bit of hyperbole. The 100 million number is so large that you'd notice the population drop from elsewhere.

The context of this issue is illegal border crossings and whether to build a wall to stop the flow, or to have a managed guest worker program. So, if it's to stop the illegal flow of border crossings, then yes we're talking about 100 million people coming over from Mexico. If it's to support a guest worker program, then where are the workers going to come from? Are the migrant workers going to fly into LAX? So, for 100 million people to cross the border, they either have to be the 100 million people currently living in Mexico, or Mexico will have to first allow many, many people into their country before those people can cross over into the USA.

Immigrants are good. """

Not if they're underclass and would come in such huge numbers that assimilation would be impossible. Immigration on the scale that's threatened by this Senate Kennedy-McCain-Bush bill would transform much of the US into new versions of Tijuana. Lawlessness, corruption, litter -- and huge caches of votes for Demcrats. It's simply not true - without qualification - that "Immigratns are good." Not unless you want the Republican Party to go extinct, and American principles of limited government to be replaced by Mexican-style socialistic corruption.

No, it's not just illegal immigration that's a source of concern. IF this Kenned-McCain-Bush bill would bring tens of millions of new underclass Mexicans into the country over a short span of time, that's bad news, even if they're "legal" - because there couldn't be assimilation of such huge numbers in such short time: instead, we'd see the culture of large areas transformed from American values into Mexican values. By Mexican values I mean Tijuana-style corruption and California-style one-party-state Democratic rule. If you want the Republican Party to become a permanent minority, write Congress and ask them to pass this bill. And thank George Bush for supporting it.

Why is Bush supporting a Kennedy-sponsored bill that would kill the Republican Party?
