This business is so black that I can't help but think that if they're talking about it, it's old news.
Yes and no. The KH-11 has been around for a while and is an "open" secret. During my time at MI school we were shown pics that a KH-11 took of Candlestick Park in SF. They looked like close-ups taken by a helo at roof level about 100yds off. Incredible detail. The satalite was off over the atlantic.
The funny thing was that during our briefings, which were top-secret at the time, the briefer said he could not talk further, but if we wanted to know more, we should go to the base book store and get a copy of the book "deep black". So there you are. Secret, but not a secret. This was over 15 years ago.
I'm suprised the KH-11s are even operating. I'd have thought we would have a whole new generation by now.
