'Prince of Darkness' Sought (Freeper NCPAC)

Lawmakers had hoped the star witness of the day would be Joseph Steffen, the former Ehrlich political aide who called himself "the Prince of Darkness" and, according to testimony thus far, had compiled lists of people to fire.

After months of staying in touch with Steffen, and a series of interviews, the legislature's chief investigator, Ward Coe, now says he can't locate Steffen. Last week, Coe hired a process server to track Steffen down and serve him with a subpoena. But as of yesterday, he had not heard back.

Joseph Steffen is NCPAC, the Freeper caught up in the MD4Bush saga. I think the special Maryland legislative committee mentioned in the article (a.k.a. the Ehrlich Witch Hunt Committee) was supposed to meet this afternoon. It sounds like NCPAC wasn't there, but they're looking to subpoena him.

Note that the thread title is the subheading of a mish-mash column type article. The main article is headlined "Big Check Given to Baltimore Mayor Proves Doubters Wrong", a typical Washington Post puff piece on Mayor O'Malley, who is running for governor.

'Prince of Darkness'

I thought that title belonged to the Lucas Electronics company in England and was a title bestowed for the reliability of Lucas lighting on English Sports cars and motorcycles.
