Blagojevich accepts anti-Blagojevich shirt from College Republicans

Governor Rod Blagojevich could have been snippy. He could have been terse. Instead, he had some fun with a group of College Republicans who came out to his appearance at the University of Illinois yesterday.

The group wore blue T-shirts emblazoned with an anti-Blagojevich slogan ("Blagojevich sucks") to protest a decision that could put some of the Illinois Student Assistance Commission's student loan portfolio up for sale.

The governor announced the program and touted its potential to provide student aid to more students. Then he looked at the College Republicans and said he wanted a T-shirt. In Blagojevich's words, "I promise you if I get a blue one like that, I'll wear it when I go out jogging."

The College Republicans quickly handed up a blue T-shirt and posed for pictures with the governor.

Any person in power who can laugh at her/him self is okay in my book.

Just look at the difference between President Bush and John Kerry.

Blagojevich gave a eulogy for Reagen at the small service in Reagen's home town here in Ill. It was respectful, humorous, and touching. I don't agree with him on much, but he's a class act compared to the Clintons, Shumer, and their kind.

Ugh. There is really nothing class act about Blojo. He is using this new All Kids Insurance program as a way to pander to the illegal and non-citizens by giving healthcare coverage to their children regardless of immigration status. He is for giving illegals drivers licenses which would almost for sure give them a voters registration. He is for giving illegals in state tuition in Illinois schools. He has signed a bill that would allow those without "social security numbers" to get low interest housing loans. He is giving illegals and non-citizens free pre-school. He may be able to accept a t-shirt but the damage he is doing to this state is what I judge him on.

They couldn't have thought up a better slogan than that? And they're college pubbies? Very disappointing.

good for him for having a sense of humor
however that pic may make a great campaign ad ;)
Even Blagovich thinks Blagovich sucks
of course i am still concerned that this guy had no idea the Daily Show was comedic satire

Your right on. He has no class. Remember how foolish and childish he was about the White Sox winning the World Series? He's a lifelong Cubs fan and refuses to support the Sox in the series. I know it sounds trivial, but he's this way on a lot of issues. Would you wear a shirt that says "'Your name here' SUCKS!"?

It would have been funny to be there, but I had a final in my thermodynamics class I had to cram for.

Blago sucks but so does our candidate for governor, so I'm not voting for that office.

He probably didn't know what else to do.

Like I said, I don't agree with him on much. He has, however, been an "honorable adversary" most of the time. This certainly puts him above the sleazy tactics used by some in both parties.

Have you read the State of Illinois website? I'm no Judy Barr-Topinka fan but if you read the website entry regarding the governor applauding the house for "forcing" Judy Barr-Topinka to release funds to pay medical providers reimbursements it's a joke. The budget had to be decided on before she even knew how much she had to work with. I'm not defending her but that was a sleaze tactic to make it look like the reason why medical providers were not being paid for services rendered to medicaid patients was all her fault.
