Better to give Repubs the message in 2006 that we're unhappy with their policies then risk getting Hillary in 2008. Maybe if enough of the Repubs are thrown out or scared in the mid-terms, they'll wake up for 2008. I hope

Well here's a scenario for you. The Dems take the house in 2006 and start impeachment hearings. Things get real nasty and the general public is extremely turned off of politics - their all alike, there's no difference between the parties, etc. When 2008 rolls around we get a bunch of middle of the road moderates who promise to change the tone in Washington and make nice, nice. It doesn't sound like a fertile breeding ground for a "real conservative" to me.

---- And how is that is different that what we have today?????

I seem to remember something about "A New Tone" and kissing up to the democrats. Letting your opponents write the education & energy bills, setting the adgenda, sharing power.

And don't we already have our "middle of the road moderate" president today?
