Immigrant Advocates Turn Focus to Ballot Box

Organizers say they hope to have 1 million new citizens and voters by November elections.

In Los Angeles on that day [May 17th], churches, union offices and community centers will be transformed into "immigrant justice action centers" to pass out citizenship applications, register voters and offer phones for voters to call their elected representatives. Voter registration stations would also be set up on the streets, organizers said.

Angelica Salas, executive director of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles, said the alliance would launch an "Immigrant Democracy Summer" on July 1 to produce a million new voters and citizens. On Labor Day weekend, the alliance plans to mobilize 1 million marchers around the country.

"I think this campaign can have 10 times the momentum that we had in 1994, post-Prop. 187," said Mike Garcia, president of Local 1877 of the Service Employees International Union. "Los Angeles, being the largest immigrant community in the nation, needs to lead the way."

Voter fraud? Nah, just undocumented citizens participating in the democratic process.

Do we need the services of Jimmah to monitor the next elections?

I wish I could understand why the GOP is so intent on orchestrating their defeat by encouraging these people.

"Car thieves are car thieves, not undocumented motor vehicle operators. Trespassers are trespassers, not undocumented easement holders. If you take property from a store without a receipt, you are a thief, not an undocumented possessor of property"

From a thread I started this morning. I couldn't agree more with the writer.

When B1 Bob "lost" his seat due to illegal alien voting, Newt chose not to fight a battle that could easily been won.

That tragic mistake haunts us all today as one of the illegal alien energizing issues.

Some said it was for votes, they vote lib socialist,
Some say it's because of businesses wanting cheap labor
it's not actually cheap, they get paid well, it's more about the business not paying taxes,
Some say it's because of lobbyists.
I think it's Globalization.

The Times doesn't employ any fact-checkers as it might hinder their ability to report stories.

I tend to agree with your assessment. It's a global phenomenon and there's a growing global resistance to it.

On Labor Day weekend, the alliance plans to mobilize 1 million marchers around the country.

Do it. Keep doing it. Demand foreign rights. Shove it down the American voters throat. Force them to bend to your will. Disrupt business. Disrupt schools. Shut down highways. Make a total nuisance of yourselves. Do it!! Show the American citizens how many of you there are. Flaunt it. Rub it in their faces. Show them who really owns this country. Make them obey! Demand they obey! DO it!

register voters

Thank God we still have the electoral college and the Land of Sodom California is only one state!

I think the Republicans should put the responsibility of social programs into the hands of the states and their people. Make it a state issue, so sales taxes will be the monies used to support the states citizens on welfare.
It would be the end of illegal immigration as well as the democrat party. When the money hits closer to home, people see things differently.

In California only (last count) it cost over 1 billion dollars a year for illegal health care alone. That amount does not include housing, clothing, food, or education.

'Day without Immigrants' Not So Bad

May 4, 2006

The May 1 boycott didn't appear to faze most Americans. Most weren't even aware there was a boycott. Others said they appreciated the lighter traffic. A few were frustrated with the "lack of understanding" of most of the
illegal immigrants.

Ken Nada of Phoenix said he didn't know anything about the boycott. "I don't pay much attention to the news," said Nada. Living off of income from a trust fund set up by his grandfather, Nada said he spends most of his time getting stoned. "None of this stuff don't make no difference to me. My dealer is still working, so what do I care?"

Los Angeles resident Rodney King said he appreciated the faster work commute. "Usually it takes me an hour to get to work," said King. "Today, I got to work in half the time. I wish every day was a boycott."

In Chicago, Democratic campaign worker Howie Connum expressed frustration at his inability to get many of the protestors to register to vote. "These morons think that because they are here illegally and don't speak English
that they shouldn't vote," said a fuming Connum. "I tell them that their votes are a way to safe guard their rights, but they have an overblown fear of getting caught. There's a basic lack of understanding about how the system works."

Boycott organizers' hopes of sending a message have produced a response that makes it difficult to determine whether the message was received as intended. "We were hoping that fear of unmowed lawns, unmade beds and
unfried tacos would cause Americans to rethink their racist opposition to open borders," said Delictivo Abogar, one of the organizers of the Miami demonstration. "But I guess it will take more time before the importance of these essential services penetrates the thick gringo skulls of the Norte
Americanos."

In related news, the United Front for the Liberation of Aztlan renewed its demand that the Mexican national anthem be played before all sporting events taking place in the states currently known as California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. "For the time being, until we have reclaimed our land, both anthems can be played," said Hernando Cortes, spokesman for UFLA. "After that, we'll see."

When the money hits closer to home, people see things differently.

Yes, they do. We could also abolish payroll deductions of state income taxes and have people pay it on (perhaps) a quarterly basis.

In California only (last count) it cost over 1 billion dollars a year for illegal health care alone. That amount does not include housing, clothing, food, or education.

It also doesn't include incarceration.

I wish I could understand why the GOP is so intent on orchestrating their defeat by encouraging these people.

Because the radical, well funded, communist left will start a war with Mexico if they can't bring in new voters. Americans aren't voting far left anymore (even the blacks are moving to the right), and the communists have worked for too many years to see everything they've done fall to ruin.
That's why they despise a pro-American/moral Christian George Bush. He's put their movement back decades!
If we try to get in their way, they'll use the Mexicans to take down the country, because they no longer have any control over it anyway. Why not punish the ignorant, uninformed, Americans for their disobedience?

Really unbelievable stuff:

Michelle Malkin, who has been a stalwart on immigration, reports that the United States government has been providing Mexico with intelligence about the lawful activities of American citizens, specifically, the locations and tactics of Minuteman patrols.

Since Richard Nixon. It was a "universal" type deal.
It's definitely time to change that law! The government has turned on it's own people.
