Fine. You want to talk about Sikh-Hindu violence (Golden Temple Massacre, Amritsar, 1984 and subsequent retaliations including the assassination of Indira, and counter retaliations by Hindus including riots in Delhi)? Maoists? Hutus? Tutsis? Jim Jones?

We can both play this game of "See! See!" all day long. It will never justify the spilling of innocent blood in the name of revenge.

I am not justifying violence. Just refuting your claim that Christians are the most peaceful religious group on this planet.

So what exactly you want to talk about?

Nothing except that fact that there are idiots among every religious groups.

Ah, something my friend we can agree upon.

Christianity isn't any more peaceful then Hinduism.

I'd say they're both peaceful. It's the practitioners that are at times violent.

Rather quite the opposite.

Historically, perhaps, but not for the past century or so.

Oh sir, please, forgive me if I gave you the impression that I was claiming anything of the sort!

I was claiming that violence in the name of revenge is not justified.

However, you do have a point when it comes to the Protestent/Catholic violence in Nothern Ireland for the past century or so, and I'm sorry to say that Catholics in the US have helped to fund the IRA.

Why?

Hindutva is ideology, not religion. But, of course, I also think "Hinduism" is Philosophy, not religion.

My friends, there is a difference between defending one's self and committing acts of atrocities to avenge for atrocities. As I was not there, I cannot say for certain whether the pilgrimage train fire started because of cooking or because a Muslim threw a fire bomb at it. Subsequent investigation (yes, yes, I know by corrupt judges) have suggested that the fire started inside of the train, not by the Muslim mobs.

there is a lot of difference between "starting a fire" and buring a train down. are you a muslim? you sound like a muslimc or a liberal apologist. most of these jihadi murderers have the silent backing of the vast majority of the fellow muslims. did you see the "celebration parades" of palestinians on 911.

get real. islamic fundamentalism is as credible a threat as nazism or communism. i wish the hindus well and hope they fight back harder against islamo fascist scum.

I can think of a few such things but it is easier to see a blue moon than a dangerous radical Christian fundamentalist.

James Kopp ... (Roman Catholic)

Fred Phelps ....

Paul Hill ...

Clayton Wagner ...

Torquemada ... (because no one expects the spanish inquistion)

If you would like me to continue ...

Sorry ... but "All fundamentalists are zealots."

You can treat Hinduism as a religion, philosophy or ideology that your choice. Its the worlds only "open source" religon. (I am sorry I am a Linux user) Nobody holds "propriety" over Hinduism. You are allowed to follow your own version of Hinduism. In India even an athiest or an agnostic calls himself a Hindu!

But when you start using Hinduism or Hindutva it as a political tool for your own ends......... you are prostituting Hinduism. I am against that.

We may be at cross purposes, here, or maybe we are not communicating.

You cannot remove Hinduism from India's psyche (not that you want to) any more than I could remove Christianity from America's. And Religion is part of and influences the political processes of both countries.

Hinduism *is* India...and there's nothing wrong with that because Hinduism is the world's only major inclusive religion as religion is defined.

That's what Hindutva is all about, isn't it?. India being India and no other country? :-)

Websites with old wives' tales do not make your case for you.

By the way, an inquisition can only affect people who are professed Christians, by definition.

Yes, thanks to your first link I did read it, and as the author says, if this is the case then the assets of the Souther Baptist Church that goes to this terrorist organization should be siezed.

There are a few Sikhs in Punjab that might disagree with you. It was Sikhism, not Hinduism, that first proclaimed equality among the sexes and castes.

Yes I do, in fact you may notice my first line.

However just because I do does not mean all others feel the same. Which I alluded to in the rest of the post.

Look up the meaning of Blue moon. Invest the time you will find that I selected that phrase for a reason.

Just a hint, it isn't because I wanted to imply it never happened but it is rare.

Continue if you wish but I never heard of those examples so I figure you have made this a matter of interest to you.
