He's been on the immigrant issue for years, hammering the theme: "Borders, Language, Culture". Not that critics will ever concede that he was right, now that the issue is front and center.

Nothing good or true can ever be expected from "compassionate conservatives" (ie. liberals), not even plain hindsight.

I believe you'll find few dissenters on FR re: language, borders, and culture (though I think the 1st and 3rd are so related that they should be rolled up under culture)...

It's nearly every other topic, his constant Bush-bashing, his utter lack of understanding of economic influences (see his comments on oil prices), his constant bashing of Rush and Sean... and his general negativity, that makes me despise him. Oh yeah, he DOES hawk his books more than ANYONE else...

Caller calls in to talk to him. Weiner asks... "which passage of my book do you want to discuss"...

When I heard him say that he was not going to be talking about immigration tonight I thought about how he was the first to realize the harm to our country by our broken borders and how he gets no credit for it.

He was right. Too bad he can't get any respect.
