Your statement seemed to be pleading for someone OTHER then Israel to take action.

No, you pretty much read that into it yourself.
To be fair, I intentionally did not name an actor. But mainly because I am tired of the US having to do the heavy lifting for everyone else.

Imagine that you are Israel. Two other parties are in a conflict with each other, and one of them turns to you and says, "If your buddy here does anything to tick me off, I'm going after you." It seems to me that Iran is asking for Israel to take preemtive action. Why? Because it is the fulfillment of prophecy, because Israel is the main enemy, and maybe, just maybe, because Iran thinks it would do better against them than against US. Maybe they hope to quickly obliterate Israel and that we will be to confused and demoralized to respond to their fait accompli.

Pretty much Jim Jones with nukes. An excellent allusion!
Pretty much describes most state leaders, given half a chance.

Most importantly, they have no delivery system capable of handling a U-235 weapon.
They're big, heavy beasts. Little Boy took a whole B-29.
I suppose they could dummie up a 737 or use a frieghter, but missle are out.
For now.

Very possible.
I would hope the US and Israel could do a joint action.
A car bomb or smart bomb taking the leadership out would be worth a try for now.

Aha, I either misremembered or got you confused with someone else. I apologize.

He doesn't think the US has the cojones to attack Iran and he thinks he can simply overpower Israel, plus he's just jacking up the price of oil for his own benefit and to the detriment of the US economy and political scene. When oil gets high, Bush gets trashed, when Bush loses, republicans lose and wimp ass dem's win...this helps Mahmoud. Very clever he is...but he doesn't realize just how much fire he's playing with.

if he is betting on President Bush not being willing to fight the he is nuts. Maybe he thinks congress wont authorize it. Heck, congress might not even shut down a filibuster over it. Excellent point about oil prices. But this Presidents has no need to run for reelection and has shown more willingness to invade than any other President.

that is the closest thing to a rational explanation I can come up with.

Gee, I guess they're leaving us with an option with no consequences.
To: MeanWestTexan
True. Little boy weighed some 4.5 tons. I have heard before they might repaint an old Boeing and try that, but one would not cause enough damage. Iran does unfortunately have heavy Russian and Chinese assistance, both open and illicit, they may build more advanced weapons than a crude gun-type uranium bomb. I hope they cannot get anything small enough for a missile anytime soon, but it all depends on how much help they get. A scary thought is that they will or have acquired Russian or Chinese weapons designs or the weapons themselves with no warning, like with the Shkval torpedoes. Russia's stockpile is largely unsecured, they can probably get Russian plans and specifications easily, if not the materials or full thing for more advanced designs.

Well, they'd have to move on to plutonium production, which is a whole 'nother level.
Be easier for the russians to just sell them one.

With all his blustering, we had better attack before he is capable of launching a nuke in rataliation. He is just dying for an excuse to do it. Why wait?? If Israel and US join forces and don't wimp out it could be done!!
