If Mary O. McCarthy should ever be so desperate as to need a character witness, or to require one so badly that she must stoop to my level, I declare in advance that I shall step forward pro bono. I am quite willing to accept that whatever she did or did not do or say about the surreptitious incarceration of al-Qaida suspects overseas (and let's not prejudge this), she did it from the most exalted motives.

I'm always against oversimplification, but it really IS that simple. And the press should be reminded of that daily.
Actually, the lines posted from his article here are misleading. He points out the bias in pursuing Libby, but not McCarthy, for leaking.
Like....duh!!...Wilson lied...what else is new? You don't suppose the Clintonistas at the CIA and State would try to pull the wool over our eyes do you?...please note sarcastic questions.

If she wanted to be engaged in "exalted" activity, she should have run for public office. She is an employee of the executive arm of government,a civil servant, and should be punished severly if found guilty.
Treason and /or sedition is not "exalted" in any way, shape or form.
And she knows it.
