RNC Maintains Tremendous Fundraising Lead Over DNC
CQ Politcs ^ | 4/25/2006 | Greg Giroux

Posted on 04/29/2006 8:30:06 AM PDT by do the dhue

The Republican National Committee raised $11.8 million in March and the Democratic National Committee raised $6.8 million, according to reports filed last week with the Federal Election Commission.

In the first three months of this year, the Republican National Committee (RNC) raised $36.6 million, which RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman said last week was an indication that “Americans are more committed than ever to enacting a Republican agenda.” Through the first 15 months of the 2005-06 election cycle, the RNC has taken in $141.9 million.

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has raised about half as much as the RNC — $18.1 million in this year’s first quarter. The DNC has raised $74.2 million for the entire election cycle. The RNC continues to enjoy a lopsided advantage in cash-on-hand: $43 million to $10 million for the DNC as April began.

Nonetheless, DNC chairman Howard Dean touted his group’s financial standing in an April 22 speech. “Last year we broke fundraising records and this year we’ve had a record first quarter in fundraising,” Dean said.

your dang right I am committed to defeating Demorats. It is more important today to give to the Republican Party more so then at any time in our history. We have problems that need to be solved. For the last six years (and I really should go back further than that) the Demorats have been obstructionist. If you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem. Here is why it is more important today more so then at any other time: Remember the 1990's and all the gun bills? I can't forget. I still wake up at night because of it. The Doc calls it Post Traumatic Gun Legislation Stress Disorder - PTGLSD. I have been sleeping better only because one gun bill has passed (that I know of) and it was NRA endorsed, since Republicans have had power. Remember the 1990's when late term abortion was acceptable? I sleep better at night because we are not killing babies in the womb. The Doc calls this Post Traumatic Pro-Choice Stress Disorder - PTPCSD. Remember 1993 and the WTC bombing. Remember Sudan, Bin Laden, and Bill Clinton? I can not trust the Bill Clinton types with my security. Doc Calls this Post Traumatic Bill Clinton Stress Disorder - PTBCSD. The people on the Commie Left want to remove God from public view. I want you all to remember that your forefathers gave you Inalienable rights. If you don't know what that is, let me explain and then you go look it up: inalienable rights are God given rights. Not man given or government given rights. If the Commie Left can remove God from our public view, it will be easier to remove your God given rights one day. Who will remember that these are God given rights and no government or man has the authority to take them away, if we are not reminded of God? The Doc calls this Post Traumatic Communist Propaganda Left Over From the Cold War Stress Disord - PTCPLOFCWSD. Only evil will rejoice in removing God from our public view, taking our right to protect our family away, and killing unborn babies in the womb. And only evil will rejoice if Demorats are the people trusted to protect us from an outside threat. If you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem. Help me defeat Post Trumatic Demoratic Party Stress Disorder - PTDPSD and give to the Republican Party. Vote Republican

The fatcats must continue to donate, to keep the corporate welfare rolling in.

Its not as important as it should be, as the Dem's only have to tap a few fat wallets of George Soros and friends to bring in the necessary dough.

(Thats why I canceled my 'Progressive' Insurance Co. policy in 2002)

Not a surprise, the Dems always cater to the poor. Why are people poor? Because they have no money. You can't get money from the people you cater to if they don't have any to give.

'keep the corporate welfare rolling in'
Bush is asking the oil companies to use profits to expand our oil refining capacity. Would you ask a welfare recipient to expand their baby producing capacity? :-)

I'll bet individual donations to the RNC have declined though. The grassroots are disgusted at the RNC and will donate directly to candidates.

The Republicans won't get a dime of my money - or my vote - if they don't start acting like conservatives again.

Secure our borders, crack down on corruption in BOTH parties, and STOP SPENDING LIKE DRUNKEN SAILORS!

Then, and ONLY then, will the Republicans get my vote.

I would say 'Demorats would'. More voters for them one day.

Our Party continues to slap us in the face ignoring the base on immigration reform and pork spending. The only thing that will get their attention is the thought of loosing power. No regular on this board wants to see the Dems regain power but are we to wait for the RNC to find out how bad things are by election results or try to open their eye by telling the workers collecting money to GET XXXXed. We must get their attention. I send every donation request letter back with obscenities scrawled across it in felt pin. Believe me, I've worked in fund-raising and the only letters that get attention are the HUGE donations or the nastiest of notes.

PS: I am not one who is comfortable swearing!

I understand your concern about corruption and our borders. We don't need political hacks during this time. We need real men and women who are not afraid to tackle our issues. I understand your views on spending. I am fiscally conservative too. I also understand that we are at war and I think it is OK to spend. Allow me to go hear: Reagan spent money in the 80s to help bring the Soviets to their knees and not a shot was fired. So, sometimes we have to spend money. We should get a grip on spending and at a time of war, I don't think we need a rain forest in Iowa and other pork barrel projects.

Would you allow a Bill Clinton type to let UBL go free again because of spending and the like?

At this point, I'm not donating anything to the republicans. Not until they quit spending like liberals, and not until they get out of the amnesty business. It didn't work before and it won't work now.

Well, I understand how you feel. In 1992, I sent a message to the Republicans for forgetting the Party platform when they raised our taxes. So, I said, 'read my lips', I just voted Demorat. I paid for that for 8 years and I have never been so sorry in my life. I will never make this mistake again.

Please keep the Demorats from power and vote Republican.

I also understand that we are at war and I think it is OK to spend.

I don't have any problem with the war spending. I have a problem with the Medicare prescription benefit. What kind of fiscal conservatism is that? It's insane. President Bush hasn't vetoed ONE SINGLE ITEM that's come across his desk, and guess what: EVERY SINGLE ITEM cost taxpayer money.

I'm furious about his position on immigration. The President doesn't seem to understand that securing our borders IS HIS JOB.

Will I vote for a Democrat? No. But it's been twelve years since the "Republican Revolution" of 1994, and we don't have much to show for it. I won't be party to allowing the Republicans to piss away ANOTHER twelve years.
