Actually, I was surprised at the power and violence of chimpanzes which she talks about. In CA we had a man who was attacked and his face ripped off literally ... as well as his extremities chewed to extinction.

All the more reason to leave them alone, I'd say.

Won't tell you how old I was when I first saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show -(ahem) but Lance was still must see tv for me every Saturday.

I remember the stories and dialogue as being wicked clever for the times. Would love to see it again. No doubt PETA would be shrieking and screaming about the intense cruelty of it all. wah-wah-wah.

Yeah but she's not real either. Heck she's had enough plastic surgery and hair dye pretty soon the evo's will say she's branched off into a different species.

Pictures of her have a clinical, not a sensuous, interest. It's sort of like watching the changes in Michael Jackson's nose and skin color, certainly not something anyone wants to do before eating.

One of the most frightening things I ever saw was a display at the LA Zoo a few years back. One of the female chimps was in estrus, so the alpha male was going insane. He was running around the enclosure throwing himself into things like rocks, trees and walls.

The strangest thing happened, as the alpha was freaking out, the submissive males started to fan out around the perimeter of their 'habitat' and began (there is no polite way to say this) voiding themselves.

My brother and I decided this was the opportune time to go visit other animals (ones less prone to... flinging, shall we say...) and left the chimp display. Not five minutes after we walked off, the screams of disgust and horror began from the zoo goers...
