In New Jersey there is no substantial philosophical difference between Tom Kean Junior and Menendez. The main difference is the party label.
If Kean wins by some quirk, expect him to behave EXACLTY like McCain, Snowe, Chaffe, et al. He'ss stab Bush and the other Repubs in the back as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow.
By the way, I heard a joke on the radio today. Govenor Pataki thinks he can get nominated as a Republican candiadte for President!!
