I have a problem with the solution proposed by the author.

Rarely does an election have a VIABLE 3rd party candidate on the ballot. Ross Perot or Ralph Nader? NOT!

Regarding the immigration issue, I think we should tell ALL our Congressmen & Senators that if the borders are not secured & the illegals sent home, we, the voters, will not vote for ANY of them, regardless of their "stance" on the issue.

Put them ALL in a leaky boat, & tell them to ALL bail or drown together.

As for the long term problem of having to vote for a bad candidate vs voting for a really bad candidate, here's my solution.

On the election ballot, for every contested office listed, the option to select "None of the above" will be included. If NOTA wins the election, the incumbent is out & the office is vacant until it is filled in another election, in which the previous candidates are NOT allowed to run.

NOTA will flush out lifetime pols who feed at the gov't trough, & give Americans a real choice at the ballot box, while ending the political polarization in our country. I suspect the number of voters will increase dramatically, as will the numbers of office holders who "say what they mean, & mean what they say".

Imagine if there had been a better choice in Ford/Carter or Clinton/Dole - None of the above!

Now, imagine the current crop of '08 contenders, then add NOTA, & take a poll. My guess is that NOTA would have big numbers, & might embarrass some into going home where they belong.

Comments please!

I like the idea of NOTA.

Long since time we had that. These maggot lawyers posing as leaders need to all be sent back home to face the ire of the people who elected them.

None of the Above is an idea who's time has come.

Let's see who the Constitution Party advances as their candidates.
