The thing that bothers me about this is the fact that the democrats were dead silent about this or didn't know to begin with. I take great pleasure in educating them about the facts.

The pols in this country are out of their minds. They sleep with our enemies, pander to our enemies, and keep our borders open to any and all, good or bad, that want to violate our soil and soverignty.

Washington needs to be overhauled.

I believe that when the facts become public the whole port thing will come down to union politics. The Dems know about it. Clinton supported the Chinese deals during his administration.

I agree. Let the mobsters take over the ports. They'll keep us all safe.

Peter King cared only for the union thugs who donate to his campaigns.

Same with the Menendez in NJ.

All about the thugs running the ports.

Also, stop letting Chinese and Russian/CIS owned ships and kick out all Chinese, Russian and Venezuelan owned oil companies. We never know what they could be carrying.

Give ports to the Chinese, give massive foreign aid to the Russians ( and some of our oil companies), it goes on and on...

Jimmuh Cawtuh gave away the Panama Canal, William the Bent gave the Chicoms the port at Long Beach. Hmmmm.

Seems like the democRATs are willing to hold the door open for our nation's assassins.

As there don't seem to be many American companies bidding for this contract, the Government will just have to buy the port and run it.

Clearly the Chinese Communists are building toward a global military and economic domination, as the United States seemingly ignores the threat. Why does the U.S. do this? The official explanation is a confused strategy aimed at "westernizing" the Communists. The idea is that if we feed their economy and create more consumer demands for goods and services we will somehow create a new capitalist nation and ally.

It’s obviously backfiring on us in a huge way. Instead, they mock us. Like any con artist who sees his mark falling into his trap, the Red Chinese feel little more that contempt for what they consider to be and easy foe. And, as their contempt grows, so grows their boldness to act with less caution. The result leads to a more dangerous world, and a less secure United States.

This is a great article, but of course it will get about 10,000 less posts than the "American Idol" thread.

Remember "Red Dawn"? We all laughed, even me at the number of tanks etc the Russians had on American soil. It's no longer something to scoff at, when foreign governments are running our ports.

I agree with the author that Red China should not be in Long Beach.

I certainly don't believe that the PRC would allow a U.S. government entity to run a port in China --- even just the mention and I believe that you would just hear the Chicoms bellyaching about neocolonialism and whining about historical wrongs.
