IKScott, by their own admission, and yours, Iran is developing nuclear energy . Iran is also one of the biggest state sponsors of global terrorism backing such groups as Hamas and Islamic Jihad (two of the most vicious radical Islamic groups in the world). Iran's president has stated that Israel should be wiped off the map. They have demonstrated time and time again hostile intent towards Israel and the West. The evidence of this is so overwhelming that even the French have concluded that Iran's intentions go far beyond civilian nuclear power.

So the question then becomes, can we trust them to restrict their nuclear program to civilian use only? Are we willing to take the risk that this terrorist supporting nation will live up to it's promise to use nuclear power for peaceful purposes only? Then one must ask, what are the consequences of being wrong?

Here's something for you to consider: let's say we trust them but they develop nuclear weapons anyway and they sneek one or two of them into the US. Now, where would they strike? Major cities, right? They're the biggest targets with the highest probability of mass casualties and therefore the highest shock value.

IKScott, politically speaking, who inhabits most of the large cities here in the US? Conservatives or Liberals? Liberals, right? So let's say they manage to slip a nuke into New York and maybe Los Angeles or Washington, DC. Millions, if not tens of millions, would die and most of them would be good Liberals. In a nation that is supposedly evenly divided between Liberalism and Conservatism, what would the loss of tens of millions of Liberal voters do to the electability of future Liberal politicians?

So I ask you, are you willing to take that chance?

Lets put it this way. When two civilizations so diametrically opposed to each other start to bump into one and other, one must go. Of course it has to be ours that wins. Why? Because the opposing has nothing but distain for freedom and only recognizes terror, power and oppression.

Of course Islam might have some sort of Renaissance and moderate itself. But that could take decades, even centuries. How much stock do you put into them not trying to annihilate us first, the second they get the chance.

Nope I'm not saying the democrats were ever right about WMD. I'm saying how was it ever possible to act when their was no proof of WMD. I noticed too half of the people here don't actually try to look at something from a different perspective they just go through throwing up images and making posts trying to be funny. There IS proof of WMD. It's called the use of nerve gas. The proof is that Hussien had nerve gas, and used it both on the Iranian army during their war, and on his own people, in northern Iraq. Husien "promised" to document and allow UN inspectors to see that his WMD programs had been dismantled. That was part of the cease fire from the first gulf war. Hussien broke that pledge, and he was continually violating other UN rules. Basicly, he undid the cease fire.

And Iraq DID have a nuclear program going on, which thankfully, Israel slowed tremendously in 1981.

And you don't think that Iran is persuing nuclear weapons? Do you bother listening to the HLIC (head lunatic in charge) over there? Little quotes about killing all the Jews, mushroom clouds, and a "real" holocaust?

Sadamm Hussien didn't hit us on 9/11.

Saddam has been causing serious trouble in the Middle East for DECADES. He had attempted more than once to take over other countries, had been developing WMDs (yes, he really was), and it was time to permanently remove him before he got around to his next big thing.

9/11 was just a convenient reminder that brutal tyrants like him need removal, and existing plans to remove him were set in motion. No better time.
