Ya know, I can remember when I was about seven years old, thinking crazy things like that -- like my left foot wasn't as good as my right foot, and the number 7 was better than the number 4. This toilet thing is like how a kid thinks. It's like these people never developed as adults or something.

Very true - and what's more along with irrational superstitions the mental age of say, 3 or so, is very interested, shall we say obsessed, with the act of going to the bathroom. As folks mature into the more advanced ages of 5, 6 and 7 the importance of relieving ones self tends to diminish.
I think you hit the nail on the head.

"the number 7 was better than the number 4." That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. Everybody knows 7 is better.
