Extremists had distributed leaflets warning people in the mostly Sunni neighborhoods of Saidiyah and Ghazaliyah not to wear shorts, police said.
"Wearing shorts by youth are prohibited because it violates the principles of Islamic religion when showing forbidden parts of the body. Also women should wear the veil," the leaflets said.
No one claimed responsibility for the slayings."

SPIEGEL: Mr. President, you are a soccer fan and you like to play soccer. Will you be sitting in the stadium in Nuremberg on June 11, when the Iranian national team plays against Mexico in Germany?
Ahmadinejad: It depends. Naturally, I'll be watching the game in any case. I don't know yet whether I'll be at home in front of the television set or somewhere else. My decision depends upon a number of things.
SPIEGEL: For example?
Ahmadinejad: How much time I have, how the state of various relationships are going, whether I feel like it and a number of other things.
SPIEGEL: There was great indignation in Germany when it became known that you might be coming to the soccer world championship. Did that surprise you?
Ahmadinejad: No, that's not important. I didn't even understand how that came about. It also had no meaning for me. I don't know what all the excitement is about.
SPIEGEL: It concerned your remarks about the Holocaust. It was inevitable that the Iranian president's denial of the systematic murder of the Jews by the Germans would trigger outrage.
Ahmadinejad: I don't exactly understand the connection.

Tremoglie: Thank you very much for inviting me. I always enjoy reading Frontpage Interview.
FP: Tell us what made you write this novel and what it is about.
Tremoglie: Just as Heterodoxy and Frontpage have debunked many myths about race, crime, the role of men in modern society, and working class America, I wanted to do the same thing. But I also wanted to write an exciting tale that people would enjoy reading and find interesting. This is why I am using fiction as the vehicle.
I began writing this novel in 1994. I did so after reading, yet again, another newspaper account of a homicide where the murderer was portrayed as a victim of racism and poverty.
These “They Made Me a Criminal” themes I can trace back to the late 19th century folktales of Jesse James. They are very prevalent in our culture. So often in books, movies, TV shows, and songs, the cops are criminals, criminals are victims, and crime victims are just unfortunate dolts. While very entertaining. they only convey one perspective.
I wanted to write a compelling novel where the cops are not racist criminals, criminals are not victims of society, and crime victims are not clueless fools. I think I have done just that.
I realized how there was a dearth of certain values in the popular culture. The beliefs of loyalty, integrity, etc. that I, and I feel most others, would characterize as conservative and that used to be frequent themes in books. This was not only true about novels, it was true about music, movies, and TV shows.
Now, there is not only a lack of these ideas in the popular culture, but they are actively ridiculed."

"IDF kills 7 Palestinians in clashes"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "IDF Special Forces operated deep inside the Gaza Strip late Monday night in the first ground operation there since this past summer's disengagement, killing four Islamic Jihad operatives on their way to fire Kassam rockets at Israeli targets. In West Bank violence, three Palestinians were killed in clashes with IDF troops.
The military force laid ambush later Monday night for terrorists in the northern Gaza village of Beit Lahyia. Backed up by IAF helicopter fire, the ground troops opened fire at a terror cell they spotted on its way to launch Kassams and killed four while wounding an additional eight.
Palestinian security officials said the IDF Special Forces were joined at one point by a naval diving unit and that the fierce fighting lasted about five hours, ending just before dawn."

Dick Sartain, RIP
When I spoke in late April at the America's Truth Forum Symposium in Washington, I had the honor of meeting Dick Sartain. I had corresponded with him for some time; he kindly kept me informed about his quiet activities exposing jihadist activity in the Dallas, Texas area.
People often ask me: What can I do, as a private citizen, to aid in the Resistance to the jihad? What I would answer would always be a summation of the kinds of things that Dick Sartain was doing. He frequently went to open houses and other public meetings at Dallas-area mosques, quietly collected information, and made that information available to people who could use it best. He always knew who was speaking in Dallas mosques -- and more importantly, he did the necessary research and knew their backgrounds, the organizations they belonged to, the sentiments they espoused, and the associations they had maintained.
If a mujahid or a smiling dissembler was coming to a Dallas mosque, Dick Sartain knew it. If a mosque in his area was distributing hate literature, Dick Sartain knew it. He didn't have to resort to any clandestine or underground efforts to amass this information. All he did was pay attention, and inform himself about the identities of the major players in the American Muslim community today, and their histories. And forthwith many others would know what he knew as well, and be able to plan accordingly.
I never would have written this message, as it would have prevented Mr. Sartain from continuing his work, were it not for the fact that recently Dick Sartain was killed by a drunk driver.
This is an immense loss. Dick Sartain was a hero in the defense of the West against the global jihad. I hope, however, that in the wake of his death many more like him will begin to do his work, and to expose, in the quiet and unobtrusive way that he did, the quiet and unobtrusive spread of the jihadist message in the U.S.
May his memory be eternal.

Future City Hall Bombed; Coalition Forces Kill Three, Detain 10

WASHINGTON, May 30, 2006 – Terrorists bombed the site of a future Iraqi city hall yesterday, and coalition forces killed three terrorists and detained 10 more suspects in three incidents May 28.
The construction site of the future Lutafiyah city hall was bombed late last night. Iraqi and Multinational Division Baghdad soldiers were sent to investigate the explosion and have secured the site, according to U.S. officials. No injuries were reported.
On May 28, coalition forces killed three terrorists and wounded one as they transported and attempted to emplace roadside bombs near Ramadi. The individuals have been linked to a weapons cache coalition forces located and destroyed in the area just south of Lake Thar Thar on May 27.
A coalition air strike about 10 kilometers northeast of the city killed the terrorists before they could complete their activity. The weapons cache was located less than 25 kilometers from the site where the terrorists were digging a hole to place a roadside bomb.
The same day, coalition forces captured seven terrorists and various bomb-making materials while conducting multiple assaults in southern Ramadi. The terrorists are known in the region for making homemade bombs and car bombs.
The troops located and detonated a car bomb and materials for making homemade bombs. Coalition forces encountered no resistance from the suspected terrorists during the raid, officials said. This location is in the same area in which six other suspected terrorists were apprehended May 19 for attacking coalition forces conducting similar operations.
The raids were part of ongoing, coordinated efforts to eliminate al Qaeda operations in the Anbar region west of Baghdad, according to U.S. officials. There were several Iraqi civilians in the area during the raid. None of the civilians was harmed, and all were returned to their homes once the troops ensured the area and buildings were secure.
Elsewhere, coalition forces detained one wanted terrorist and two suspects near Taji on May 28. The two suspects surrendered immediately, while a third suspect tried to escape by jumping into a nearby canal.
Once all three men were in custody, the two suspects identified the third man who had attempted to flee as the terrorist for whom the troops were searching. The wanted terrorist's vehicle was destroyed on site.

Iraq Says It Has Captured Key Militant

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - The Iraqi government said Tuesday it has captured a key terror suspect who allegedly confessed to hundreds of beheadings. Ahmed Hussein Dabash Samir al-Batawi was arrested by a terrorist combat unit on Monday in Baghdad, according to the prime minister's office.
The unit also seized documents, cell phones and computers that contained the names and addresses of other wanted terrorists and information on Islamic extremist groups, the government said in a statement.
"Al-Batawi is considered at the top of the terrorist list," the statement said, adding he had "committed the ugliest crimes against innocent civilians especially in Hurriyah neighborhood that witnessed many massacres."
The government said al-Batawi confessed under questioning that he beheaded hundreds of Iraqis in Baghdad and other Iraqi provinces.
