Germany has done squat to improve. It's just that Italy and France su(k worse.

That is simply not true. The reforms have not been as much as they should have been, but there is positive movement.

The Germans don't like to strike and they certainly don't like revolutions. The corporations are extremely competitive and nearly everyone save the public servants recpognize the need to tighten belts and compete.

As a Brit, I naturally hope that Germany does not win the World Cup, but with Juergen Klinsmann at the helm they sure must have a good chance.
