Israeli's people have been propagandized into a progressive stupor. They don't have the stomach to stop him, any more than the United States does.
Israel's days as the toughest kid on the middle eastern block are over, I'm afraid.
There is nothing like a good kick in the face to change all that real quick. Unfortunately, democracies are not good a preemptive action, especially when the siren song of wealth and (relative) peace has been calling for a long time. But once free people realize that their very existence is threatened, hell can be unleashed PDQ.
Regardless of political party in power in Israel, they Israelis ALL understand they live surrounded almost on all sides by sworn enemies of the state. An Iranian nuclear attack will result in just about every major Iranian city being turned into radioactive glass in very short order.
The Israelis I work with would dispute that.
